Templars Guard the Temple of Oaths and are chosen from the most proven veterans, phalanx warders are a specialist formation that is charged with the defense of the Phalanx and adhere to a specialized training doctrine emphasizing shield wall tactics. Ill look up the rest real quick.

Iron Havocs are the best marksmen in the Legion. Tyrant Terminators are the vanguard line breaker units of the Iron Warriors.

Headhunters are the the best veterans and given special training in assassination and patrolling. Larnean Terminators as the elite heavy assault units of the Alpha Legion armored formations.

From memory:

Alpha Legion Headhunters are the further evolution of the regular legion recon squads

Lernaean Terminators are basically a full on black ops unit, nobody sees them coming, nobody sees them going and nobody is left alive to point the finger afterwards

Templars are the guardians of the temple of oaths aboard the Phalanx and serve under the 1st Captain aka Sigismund

I can PM you the rest later if you want?

?

Black OPs Terminators. Drool.

But these are not viable for the Pride of the Legion setup IIRC?

The newest book from the collectors edition says legion specific terminator units are acceptable for pride of the legion. So you could theoretically take 100 Justaerin, Death Shroud, Grave Warden, Phoenix Guard, Lernaean, Gorgon, Tyrants, and Fire Drake Terminators.

Edit: IIRC this also applies to the non Terminators as well, so you could have an army of Mor Deythan, Headhunters, Dark Brotherhood, Palatine Blades, and Medusan Immortals as well.

Only with their awkward and otherwise underwhelming rite of war.

Why awkward and underwhelming?

it seems to hit the nail on the head and bring in a bit of fun stealing other units

It's really inflexible. Forcing you to take 3 tactical squads and requiring that you either give everything transports or lock yourself into taking one of the usr choices. The Mutable Tactics trait isn't quite so mutable with all those restrictions.

Worth it!
