Balthamal
Only with their awkward and otherwise underwhelming rite of war. Why awkward and underwhelming? it seems to hit the nail on the head and bring in a bit of fun stealing other units It's really inflexible. Forcing you to take 3 tactical squads and requiring that you either give everything transports or lock yourself into taking one of the usr choices. The Mutable Tactics trait isn't quite so mutable with all those restrictions. Worth it! Agree, since when is taking 3 20 man tactical squads, with infiltrate, one of which can have Alpharius in the midst of them, a bad thing? Add headhunters, Lernaeans and some bikes/jetbikes and away you go Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289246-extermination-special-units-fluff/page/2/#findComment-3647409 Share on other sites
Greyall
Very curious to see the Tyrants in the flesh. While I somewhat dislike the Iron Warriors' paint scheme (although FW made it a little better in its Pre-Heresy form), their brutish design is pretty cool. Hoping those missile launchers mesh well with Cataphractii armour. I'm a little less anxious for the Ravens, so far (which isn't far at all, we've only seen 1 poster) their design seems too clean, which does make sense from a stealth POV, but is...well...too clean. Hydriatus
I wonder whether the Iron Havocs will even be a unit with their own models and not just an upgraded devestator squad... Greyall
They'll probably get some bionic eyes, targeters and some other aesthetical goodies. The Tyrants themselves have no apparent differences in design, apart from the Missile Launchers. But then the Rampagers didn't, either, and they got new models. Hydriatus
Didn't the rampagers have a whole slew of weapon options though? ANYWAY back on topic! :P Are Iron Havocs part of the Stor Bezhak as well as the Tyrants? Are the Tyrants deployed as part of regular companies as well as being part of the Artillery reserve? Malus Trux
Anything good on the Darkwing Storm Eagle? Kiavahr apparently told Mars they do what they want & provide the RG with stealth craft like the Whispercutter & Shadowhawk (a stealthed Thunderhawk) as well as the Thunderquack Darkwing but won't share the tech. The catch for the stealth system is lower passenger capacity (four less than standard) & flexibility it seems. The weapons can't be changed but it seems Kiavahr knows how to still make flashbangs & really likes them cause that's what the missile launcher fires (weaker strength & AP than normal but with blind & concussive).
