GrunTeufel
Okay, I just finished a kitbash idea of mine. I really like the old sternguard marines. I hate the new robed ones, they look too crowded and over the top. Brother Duncs inspired me actually. I wanted a uniform look and I am quite satisfied with the result. Head, legs and the bolter arms are from the death company box, shoulder pads are from the new sternguard box. I modified the bolter with a scope and the magazine from a terminator stormbolter. I am planning to make more with special weapons and combi bolters. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-04-10142542_zpsc30a1e26.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-04-10142904_zps217ebbea.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-04-10142841_zps544da6bc.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289320-my-new-sternguard-marine/ Share on other sites
BrotherCaptainArkhan
Wow. Well done. The plastic Sternguard is indistinguishable in style from the others and they all look badass. I want to do Sternguard even more now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289320-my-new-sternguard-marine/#findComment-3648267 Share on other sites

Dragonkin Arenis
Excellent work! As Arkhan pointed out, he's in the exact same style as the older Sternguard models. If you can keep this up, you should have an excellent Sternguard squad! Xenith
Great kitbash. Agree the new SG are busy, but they are perfect for diluting down to make more understated models, and the sashes go great with librarians! I was planning to make a librarian with a jump pack and yes now that I look at it, the legs from the sternguard box makes perfect sense. I am okay with sashes as long as they are on a librarian. I hate the way they look on regular marines. They look too ceremonial and awkward in most cases. teblin
Lovely stuff. How did you get that nice, soft red? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289320-my-new-sternguard-marine/#findComment-3649451 Share on other sites
GrunTeufel
Lovely stuff. How did you get that nice, soft red? Layers. I thin the red to the consistency of water and I apply it to the surface in layers until I get the tone I want. I use blood red by the way. I don't use base colors or anything. I don't prime my models either. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289320-my-new-sternguard-marine/#findComment-3649454 Share on other sites

Add a shoulderpad psychic hood, your jump pack and a force weapon and youre golden.
