Nah - it is written by Gav Thorpe. After having read his "Deliverance Lost", he is now firmly on my "do not buy"-list, as spending money on the books he writes, only gives Black Library the false idea, that he is worth having on the pay list...

ANOTHER Raven Guard book.... seriously??? When will the Wolves and Angels get more love, at this point the Scars have more screen time than 2 of arguably the most popular Legions on the Loyalist side. I would really love for them to flesh out what happens between Signus and Terra for the Angels and after Prospero for the Wolves sad.png

Eh?

The BA have Fear to Tread

The Wolves have Prospero Burns and they feature significantly in A Thousand Sons

Pretty sure BA and Wolves show up more often throughout the series.

The WS have a limited edition novella and Scars. If the Scars do have more screen time, which I doubt, it's only by a little

what do I have to sacrifice to the Chaos Pantheon, Emperor, Mork, whatever the heck the Necrons praise, the Eldar Gods, you get the point, to get Gav AWAY from my beloved Raven Guard?!

It makes me hate my armies fluff.

I have always wondered why there is so much animosity towards Gav Thorpe's work with the Raven Guard as I quite enjoyed it, however, I must admit having read my copy of Ravenlord this morning I was left feeling a bit disappointed if I am honest.

I was going to list my main bug-bears but I can't get the spoiler tags to work, so will wait until more people have read it.

So I finally got my copy in the mail today. I haven't started reading it yet, right in the middle of Vengeful Spirit at the moment, but I do have to say that Gav has gotten the two best looking novellas yet.

I was in love with the matte cover and page edges of Soulforge, but holy censored.gif , Ravenlord is beautiful. The gloss cover with matte imprinted feathers. Awesome. I was hoping for another short story printed on the inside of the dust jacket, but oh well.

Anyways, I can't comment on the story itself yet, but man, the actual book sure is pretty.
