finecast?

Recommended Posts

I'm fairly confident it's just Finecast with the brand taken off.

From what I remember, there was some report within the last few years about how the negative publicity from their initial Finecast releases really hurt GW. They're probably looking to distance themselves from a tarnished name.

I'm fairly confident it's just Failcast with the brand taken off to make people think it's better quality.

Corrected for you.

Im rather certain it's finecast.  I remember the same description of "finely detailed resin" under their finecast models prior to the website change.  And, after purchasing several Forgeworld models, realize they are a similar material.  While it may be true that the finecast models are resin, and finely detailed, they are a weaker and more brittle version of what forgeworld uses.  Also, I have found that the fine cast bits are easier to put together in some respects, but tend to break more often than plastic.  I hope that helps.

Just got an order with 3 finecast HQ. Only a few air bubbles along armor edges among all of them. Then again, I always had decent luck with Finecast.

i only have 1 finecast model (in resin) and it turned out okay, a fey bubbles on his back but hes a space marine, ez enuff to hide :)
