hey all, i have: finished my first 3 bases and started 6 more, painted some more on the paint test marine and the preator (glow, yay or nay?), made 5 more marines (2 tactical veterans and  recon).

I like how matt your armour is; it looks like it's absorbing the light. The bases look great too, and the mix of armour types your models have. I'm doing Raven Guard as my legion, your thread gives me some great ideas.

At first I thought you were doing to make all your tactical legionaries out of recon squads. An entire army of cloaked killers... quite an issue with repetitive poses and heavy weapons though.

@ninjasuperspy, they are from the Gw urban basing kit. But I can't remember which, irrc there were 2 on offer.

inspired by " A Game of Thrones" (the book not the show), i set about creating a miniaturised version of the hound (sandor clegane) as he is seen at the hands tournament. 

i am in the process of sculpting on the armour details (mk6 greaves atm) and creating weapons and his mount, also should i try to recreate the armour he wears or should i just have a personalised suit of artificer armour? what sheild should i use?

I think if you could do it then bare headed with that scarred face :) I think the armour depends on your personal skill level, again if you could do it then go for it.

Depends on which command squad (mk II, III or IV) as they vary somewhat. As for which head, I'd be inclined to suggest a completely bald head so you can then sculpt whatever hairstyle you want.

Can't think of an English monarch who died in a joust, but Henry II of France did.

 

I like the idea, mark III is probably closest to plate armour. I have never tried to GS chain mail but I have heard it is tricky.

Harold Godwinson is generally believed to have taken an arrow to the eye, but hey may have been hacked apart by 4 knights. Or both happened.

Are there any mk3 biker kegs or legs that can easily be made into bike legs? And which of the shoulderpads that Knight of the raven suggested would work best?

 

Also if bareheaded what style of hair and which head should I use?

i modified the legs to make the greaves into mk2, had a go at sculpting a cloak (didn't come out to well), made (on paint) a mockup of a bike mounted plasma gun for no apparent reason, started to look up shoulderpads and choose the head i want to use. now the pictures:

Yeah it looks cool for all it's blurry ness. I only got it cos of the Khorne bunny ears ;) I love your RG man, when I've done my SoH and NL I think I'm gonna do RG, Nomad Predation style, and work in some hints that they might become the Carcharodons.
