Bringing on the (Man-Portable) Big Guns

I've been running some numbers recently against Wraithknights, because damn Wraithknights, and I've come to the conclusion that the best IG answer to them is numerous lascannons. I do mean numerous. This has lead to the idea that the backbone to my future armies will probably look something like this.

HQ-

CCS - Regimental Banner

Troops

PCS - Flamer x4

Infantry Sqaud - Plasmagun and Lascannon

Points: 1265 (or 1275 with Bolters for Sergeants)

This gives me 2 Tank/Monster Hunter Orders, Anti-Flyer, Twelve Scoring Units, sixteen lascannons (!), and the minimum FOC covered. At the tournament points around here I'd still have 475 to sprinkle in Inquisitors, Primaris, Commissars, Priests, and other units. The PCSs could go in the Vendettas and come out late for back field scoring.

What I'm wondering from you guys is, do you think that this list would work against double (or even triple) Wraithknight and, if so, does it stand a snowball's chance in hell against other lists? Also, bear in mind, you wouldn't always blob up, just if you need to make those orders and psychic powers count.

Baring something obscene like this, what do you guys do to tackle those T8 W6 jerks?

Hah! Now that's an infantry horde! I think you might be missing a trick without HWSs but if your goal is to take on Wraithknights maybe you don't want multiple wound T3 model units.

I think it might be a bit boring to play though, it's a bit too cut and paste and inflexible. It'd be more fun and arguably more effective to mix it up a bit maybe? What about a Veteran squad or two with plasma to unleash more mobile plasma hell? They'd offer you something that doesn't have to sit back and shoot to be effective and can rush to bolster your lines when the Wraithgits land in your territory.

The trouble with tailored lists is that it's all too easy to come across a list they can't handle. A more balanced infantry army would eat this list for breakfast for example, but you can't have everything so that's a risk you'd have to take!
