Hello My brothers. Well it looks like I might be back in the Saddle Again............sooner than I thought. Some of my friends have decided to donate minis to get me back in the fold. thank you. while I was not asking for this, I do believe in Karma. and I have sown much karma. this is exactly why I love this little slice of the web. the brotherhood. So, on to the meat of this: I will be re-starting my Death Guard force in time. It will focus on on a Mainly Trench warfare/attrition style of play. I will probably not use Calas Typhon, but who really knows at this point. the "other" edge of my hobby sword is a Dusk Raider army. yes, Dusk Raiders. This force will represent Battle-Captain Garro and the Istvaan Survivors. they have, after the betrayal, returned to the original Panoply of their legion. they will be picking up other Legio "orphans" and loyalist members, but there are like what, 70 DG survivors. so that should keep me busy. I will be doing two different Garro conversions 1 in MK IV armour, 1 in MK VI armour to represent the progression. this will eventually become a "Sigilite" army. and eventually, the big =][= ! So, after I figure out which one to do first, I will start on some sketches and such. cheers, prime

Speaking of donations, I've a  Iron Hand Tactical and a Raven Guard Assault marine to get to you at some stage that'll fit in with the Istvaan survivors, if you'd still welcome them.

well Heck! I'll take em. All help will garner the helper a spot in my force(your choice, Sigilite or DG) as a special conversion, complete with backstory(going to try an match heathens with this)

 

What a cool idea for the Sigilite force. It's such great fluff and you could have a lot of fun with the painting and modeling. I can't wait to see that. 

That's what I thought. It was inspired by my Original "Hell Hammer" Salamanders massacre survivors. I just knew I'd get the "orphans" in there Somewhere. I chose this as  I would like to dabble in all the legions. this just makes sure I am not just wasting time as I can use them in my force.

 

it will start off VERY Dusk Raider-Centric. then I will probably do some other legions. from Istvaan to start. then, well we'll see. looks like I'm gonna be painting some "Hell Hammers" after All!

A little update. A very good friend is sending me some SoH Despoilers. so My question is...............

 

What Scheme should I paint them in?

1. Stock Sons of Horus

2. Luna Wolves

Yay! Prime is back!

 

I vote Luna Wolves, for the record. If I could paint white worth a can of peas, I'd play them in a heartbeat. But, alas, I cannot.

why does everyone think white is so hard to paint?!?

 

it's actually one of the easier schemes IMO.

 

1. grey spray primer.

2. ceramite white for the basecoat(be sure to leave some grey showing for the recesses and wherever you want shadows), you can also add just enough nuln oil to             "off"white it a little

3. edge Highlight with whitescar.

 

it's that easy......maybe I'll do a tutorial when I actually have paints.

 

oh, the only thing about white is use multiple thin (2X milk thickness) layers, to make it smooth.I might do some LW's and SoH's just to have variety. and yeah, they'd be in the same squad(take that paint nazis)

I think a mix of Luna Wolves(those SoH who refuse to wear the colors) and some Sons of Horus(those who will show the traitors that not all who bear the colors are traitors to the Emperor) would be cool.  

 

And hello to a fellow Alaskan(although I am only here due to military obligation).  Perhaps yourself, heathens, and myself can get together to banter back and forth and toss bolter shells at eachother?  haha

 

Anyway, good luck, I may just have enough spare pieces to donate and have a character "named" after myself haha.

soo, explain the black..........teehee.gif seriously though, I quite like the sea foam green armor. but for some reason, I really like the Idea of Pre-Primarch armies. nobody seems to do them.

so yeah.......thank goodness for small miracles! I really missed my 'EAVY METAL brushes too! yay!

If Horus wasn't found already. FW makes it unclear on when he was found outside of being the first, while stating that Terra never stopped being in contact with Cthonia. For all we know, there never has been a pre-Primarch XVI Legion.

 

Go green or go home. It's always the white or black, rarely do I see some green.

this is probably the best argument for the green so far. this has forced my decision.

Yes!

 

It's the only way I can get my kicks these days. Convincing people to paint their tiny toy soldiers the way I want them to, so I don't have to do any myself. :p

 

 

But in all seriousness, looking forward to seeing them, as your previous stuff was pretty good.
