Thanks again guys!!!

How does ETL work? I assume it's a painting challenge from what I read, but I don't know the restrictions/rules for it. Or the time frame.

Was thinking of entering whichever tank I choose and the Bullgryns I'll order with it. Would you guys recommend? I want to get my guard done and so would choose this team over chaos at the moment as I fancy a new challenge. I know it's not much but I have never done one before and want to start small just to make sure I complete.

Rules will be release May 1 from semper I believe, so we are all waiting for them as well.  Also simper has hinted that traitor guard/traitor knight may be allow for chaos, so you could vow for the dark gods as a true bearer of their words.

Could somebody explain why so many are going with the LRBT? Not critical...just wondering. I feel as though in the new book the punisher and executioner are the best too. Just curious to see if I'm missing something. Thanks!

The Battlecannon is able to be useful against a wide array of things. Ork Mobz, Marines of all flavors, 3+ or high Toughness the LRBT can take out a bunch of 'em. It can also take out vehicles. It's versatile, where as the other tanks have more narrowed roles which they excel at. It's able to take on just about anything.

I'm not a big fan of the standard Leman Russ or the Demolisher, since by being Ordnance on their mainweapons, they can only fire snapshots with their sponsons and hullweapon. Ofcourse, you can circumvent this by not taking any sponsons to begin with.

I'm also not a big fan of the Exterminator, since we can easily find autocannons in other areas.

This leaves the Punisher, the Eradicator, the Vanquisher and the Executioner.

The Punisher is nice, but imo you need a Tank Commander, preferably Pask to take full advantage of it. BS3 just doesn't cut it.

Heavy Bolter Sponsons make a nice addition, but aren't necessary.

The Eradicator is nice, since it's so jaw-droppingly cheap. Ignores cover is always nice, and this tank blows almost anything out of cover.

Heavy Bolter Sponsons make a nice addition, but aren't necessary, especially since you kinda want to keep it as cheap as possible.

The Vanquisher is nice, and while a Tank Commander would help, it's not necessary. Long range AT that can deal with AV14 is actually something that the Imperial Guard lacks.

Multimelta Sponsons and a hullmounted lascannon is a nice supplement to the Vanquisher.

The Executioner is a double-edged sword. I don't personally like it, but I've seen people who swears by them. It's a bit of a gamle to roll 5 get's hot!-rolls every time you shoot, but this tank can also really live up to it's name sake. TEQ's, MEQ's and MC's alike are afraid of it.

Plasmacannon Sponsons are almost required to make the most out of it.

Personally I only have 3 LR's in my army so far; a Punisher (with TC/Pask, HB Sponsons), a Eradicator (no Sponsons), and a Vanquisher (Lascannon and Multimelta Sponsons), but I don't feel a sudden urge to get any more right now. Alongside the rest of my army (much infantry and some artillery), they can deal with most threats.
