This quotes really tells what hapened.

Option A or option B?

Why, option C, of course!

I was talking to my brother the other day and he plays space wolves. We were going back and forth about why I dislike and he love them, and it occurred to me that I shared that idea with the 1000sons.

I read up on their history and bought the book A Thousand Sons, and I have grown to love them. Unlike my other choices, I have not once thought about collecting another legion since, and I have even tried to force myself to change my mind for two weeks, to no avail.

So, what are the thoughts on how I should start? I want to start a small collection, but I do not know where to begin, as I am worried I will but something unusable or useless once the prospero book comes out.

The basics, PA guys with Bolters, Terminators etc. are unlikely to change, just make sure the colour scheme is right. Then wait for Prospero to add the unique/special stuff, as we don't yet now what that's likely to be. But as long as you're not you're not wanting to hold out for upgrade chests/helms for every model, starting to fill in your basic roster now probably wouldn't do any harm.

I would say start with the basics.  If you want to go heavy assault, pic up two units worth of those.  If you want the basic ground pounder, get two units worth of tacticals.  Then snag an HQ.  Pretty much the most guaranteed way to start and ensure you do not waste time on something not worth picking up.  Look for bits stores to pick up Egyptian style bits, check out the Tomb Kings sprues and see what they have lying around.  Good luck!  And good choice, not too many of them floating around.
