IndigoJack
So I've been toying with this idea... I saw lots (and I mean lots) of centstars at adepticon. So of course, I looked at them and said, "how can I do this with GKs, and can I do it better?" Well, I have an answer to the first question, I'll let you guys chime in on the second Core list: Coteaz (duh) GK Libby w/ ML3 and 3 servo skulls RH libby in termi armor w/ shield eternal 4 dev cents with grav-cannons and hurricane bolters, sarge has omni-scope and ML add troops and support to taste as points allow Now this core adds up to a whopping 805pts, but here is the basic idea behind it. Roll on telekinesis for gate of infinity. You have 3 psykers who can roll a collective of 6 times to get it, so ideally it should pop up. Deploy the servo-skulls conservatively and use them to prevent you from rolling the dreaded doubles (impossible with just one d6!) Hopefully, the GK libby gets it, and you can give the RH libby psychic shriek and coteaz divination awesomeness. Coteaz's utility knows no bounds as his spy network special rule gives you great odds of going first and IBEY + skyfire will tear up flyers that wander too close. The RH libby exists to tank wounds, and there are enough wounds to around that this deathstar is going to be hard to get rid of. As soon as I finish getting my cents put together, I'm going to give this a whirl. I have a feeling I'm going to lose some friends over this! EDIT: of course, you can always up the RH libby's mastery level or switch him out for a captain or chapter master as points allow, but I was going for the cheapest deathstar. Also with the GK libby and Adamantium Will you're DtW requires at worse a 4+, with it being a 3+ against most things. Gentlemanloser
Do you really need RH for this? If you can get away with not attaching a GK Libby (and they're quite expensive compared to other options) you can use C:I Coteaz to attach to any Space Marine Centurion. IndigoJack
I think the question you're really asking is "do you need GKs for this?" and the truth is no, you don't, but then I couldn't post it in the GK thread :p A centstar really needs GoI to be effective, which means either Loth or Tigurius. If your taking marines a allies, you only get one HQ, which means no shield eternal tank. I'll be the first to admit that this isn't the most efficient centstar, But honestly, I don't think the GK Libby is too overpriced for a ML3 psyker in terminator armor. The real advantage to the GKs isn't the libby, it's what your GKs can bring. Massed cheap scoring infantry, hard hitting dreadknights, psyflemen, and all the other goodies that only GKs can do. Gentlemanloser
If you're running henchmen you could always do C:I Coteaz and cheap henchmen. Kinda locks you out of NDKs though. GK Dreads I don't find attractive any more. :( If you want more henchmen, and therefore C:GK Coteaz (use both C:I Coteaz and C:GK Coteaz! :P) then you need RH for the IBEY lulz. I suppose the choice is really 3 henchmen or 6. :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289700-gkrh-centstar/#findComment-3656157 Share on other sites
