Cpt_Reaper
Having the scions come from the same planet or even just in the same system is possible. While scion regiments typically go where they are needed, your regiment could be linked in by way of recruits: orphans of officers in your regiment go to the local schola progenium. That could also be shown in a higher regard by the average trooper for the scions. Eg: Trooper: Hey Scion, that was a top shot you made. What's your name?Scion: My name is ++Insert name here++Trooper: Oh really? I served under your father in ++Insert crusade/operation here++. He was a top bloke. Glad to see his son lived up to the name.Or something like that Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289754-place-holder-for-my-scions-just-ideas/#findComment-3656683 Share on other sites
recon0321
That' sound great I was thinking of just creating that guard regiment and then a small story of hell jumpers and their extreme close ties to the 105th similar to the iotan gorgonnes and the sisters of battle ties Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289754-place-holder-for-my-scions-just-ideas/#findComment-3656720 Share on other sites

Or something like that That wouldnt work as Scions are given a new name and have their previous memories prior to the Progenium wiped. WarriorFish
What about having them assigned to a force with a different name and operating under that? Nicodemus Doloroso
That wouldnt work as Scions are given a new name and have their previous memories prior to the Progenium wiped. Where did you get this from? I couldn't find it in Codex: Militarum Tempestus, and at least the Black Library fluff holds that Commissar Gaunt, for example, clearly had memories pre Schola Progenium and knew full well his family background to the point of seeking vengeance for his father's betrayal. WarriorFish
What do you mean? The Scions have their own regiment etc, but for the purposes of the campaign or whatever they've taken in under the other regiment. Or perhaps renamed entirely as part of a merger? That wouldnt work as Scions are given a new name and have their previous memories prior to the Progenium wiped.Where did you get this from? I couldn't find it in Codex: Militarum Tempestus, and at least the Black Library fluff holds that Commissar Gaunt, for example, clearly had memories pre Schola Progenium and knew full well his family background to the point of seeking vengeance for his father's betrayal. I think that was older fluff, but it could still be correct. Black Library authors have a creative licence don't forget! Andhil
Why not? You could always adapt the fluff a little to suit your own army. My Scions aren't Scions, They're Stormtroopers. The Elite of my Legion. All from the same world. Or, perhaps these two units/regiments fought together over a long period of time, forming mutual bonds of honor, leading to the regiments taking the same name/homeworld, Honorary citizens, maybe? It'd be easy enough to do. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289754-place-holder-for-my-scions-just-ideas/#findComment-3659363 Share on other sites
