The HH Forum - Prepping for the ETL III

SW1

Recommended Posts

We've got a short time before the ETL starts so have you got your prep work completed? The rules state the models need to be no further than base/under coated. So there's no point in waiting for the ETL to start before opening boxes and starting to remove mould lines. In comparison to other forums we'll have more prep to do as the bulk of our entries are resin rather than plastic so get what you can done now.

For those thinking of doing a single mega vow have a second thought and maybe break it down to 2 or 3 vows instead. This will still leave you a few vows just incase you get finished early and you want to add further vows. It also means if something happening IRL then you don't end up struggling to finish the mega vow and possibly failing to complete.

One thing a lot of people miss in the rules is that you need to complete all of the vows you make to have them all count. If you do 4 vows of say 1000 points each completed and then make a final vow of say 100 points. If that final bow isn't completed the other 4 vows will not count. This is something a few people each year forget and end up loosing big points, so let's try to avoid this on this forum!

Safest bet is only vow models you've already got hold of and get them completed. Get that vow done in as short a time as possible without skimping on the paint job.

There's a total of 92 days to get your models done so let's not get to stressed about time. Lol ... You can do that towards the end of July.

The main trick is early completion of 1st vow and keep at it with subsequent vows. ;)

Hey havok100...I think the official start of the ETL is may the 1st..get scrubbing that resin and hope to see your emp children join us for the win!

@jaspcat...good thinking there mate, vow it when u got it! Will your vows all be blood angels?

Gawd I wish I had stuff to paint! stupid thieves. stupid fire! oh well.

I'll just have to offer the moral support.

Prime! When did you get back? Your sallies were a pure source of inspiration for me!

That reminds me, I pledged a 5 man tact support squad of meltas, mk3 style when you disappeared. Offer still stands mate. :)

any chance of Death Guard colors? yeah, I switched legions, the DG suit my style of play better. (but, there will be some sallies in a sigilite force I am working on)

I'm just cleaning up 20 medusan immortals, then 10 man support squad, Spartans and contemptors. I was just thinking of doing 1 vow for the whole lot, I'd love to paint my 2500pt plus army in 92 days, that would be awesome. The basic colour scheme is a doddle and doesn't take much time at all. Just the details are the time consuming bit.

Currently preparing a 10 man tactical squad and a Praetor in Cataphractii Terminator armour. I've also got 3 Contemptor Dreadnoughts I'd like to vow as well (providing the other stuff goes well).

Problem is I am not sure how to arm the last one. First Dread has got a twin-linked lascannon and a power fist, the other two Kheres Assault Cannons and a havoc launcher. Any ideas for the third would be much appreciated!

So after doing some research, apparently if I submit stuff to the mechanicus forum, I would be working together with Emperor worshippers (IG, SoB, =I=). To hell with that! I'm submitting my stuff here, which means I can also submit my IH.

I have-

Two 10 man legion squads

9 characters

Three drop pods

5 man plasma support squad

Two javelin attack speeders

Three rhinos in the mail

1 magos

1 tech priest

Various servitors

3 thallax

1 knight paladin

Lets give the 40k players Hell brothers!

I won't get my next FW order until June, would it be too late to enter into ETL III then?

that would give you roughly 1-2 months to pledge something. big or small, doesn't matter, just join in and have some fun. its about community and a little competition.

You nee to have made your first pledge by the 1st of June if memory serves me right. So if you know what your getting for definite just pledge by that date and once it arrives start painting it. ;)
