When did XIIth reverse their scheme?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering is it stated any where when the World Eaters reversed their colour scheme, so that it was primarily white with blue pads rather than the blue with white pads? I was thinking of maybe doing a Warhounds army and was just factoring all the possibilities such as the use of the World Eater models etc.

I don't recall having seen an RT image of the World Eaters as mostly blue, but it would be neat if someone could find something like that. The only schemes I've ever seen labeled as "World Eaters" have always been either white with blue pauldrons and various other accoutrements or Khorne-flake red. :)

The concept of "Legion" schemes didn't even come about until after RT was almost done/becoming 2nd Edition, and I don't remember anything from that time period talking about "pre-Legion" as even an idea, much less having a scheme for it. It could have been an alternate scheme someone had painted up at the time though.

Pretty sure that they reversed coloration when they dropped the War Hounds name in favor of "Eater of Worlds"/World Eaters. The name was suggested by a War Hound after all.

There's a picture of a War Hound wearing the old colors in Betrayal. It's basically the reverse of the GC/HH World Eaters scheme with War Hound iconography.

Lhorke, the Dreadnought in Betrayer, is still painted in the old colors. I would say that depicting him is as simple as reversing the World Eaters scheme and adding some War Hound iconography (which is available in the FW decal sheet).

I plan on adding some War Hound symbols to my World Eaters Terminators myself, just to show that they are the oldest veterans of the company.
