Four unidentified members of the Kill Team: Codename Aliquam Augue,Marines Malevolent.

The ground shook as the Astartes ran down the street, chasing their quarries, a squad of rebel PDF. Private Kebec led his friends into an underground tram system, once used to carry civilians from stop to stop. Now, it meant safety, or so he hoped. He heard the rest of his squad being cut down on the street above, explosive bullets pulping his fellow squadies bodies. He attempted to load his cheap bolt-action stub rifle, fiddling with the stripper clips as he pulled them out of his pouches at his belt. He thought back to when his world had first turned from the Imperium with some regret. He knew the end was coming now, no doubt about it. "Into the tunnel", he shouted to his friends ( or meatshields). They jumped from the platform, down to the tracks, taking care not to step on the third line. For the most part.

He heard a shriek behind him, and turned to see Private Askook falling into a smoking heap, his right boot on the third rail. The two others with him kept running, hoping to get to a maintenance area nearby. Hopefully they could stay safe for the night, and get away from the carnage, and plan their next moves. Then they heard it. Thumping.

They picked up the pace, running from the end that surely followed them. Then, an explosion. Corporal Hassun's intestines propel ahead of his crumpling body, followed by a puff of crimson steam. Kebec and Keme trip on an outer rail. "Please!" shouts Keme "Forgive us! The Governor did, you want him, not us". He pleads for his life as a .50 bolter round plummets through his cranium, ending his short, 17 year life. Kebec turns from his friend's body, in time to see a ceramite foot connect with his face.

The Astartes looks down at the body, his derision concealed by the Mk. 7 helmet. "I almost don't want to record these kills," he says as he opens the book that was chained to his belt. He jots down the kills, and rips the dogtags from the rebel's necks. He looks at the rifle that the now faceless soldier's hand clutched. "A new trophy," he says as he throws the sling over his backpack.......

Alright....... I know, 40k. And I was just getting into 30k Ultramarines. I know, right? Hobby ADD get's to ya sometimes. As the tag I added states, I'm going to be making a Marines Malevolent Kill-Team, with the HH Ultramarines sitting on the back burner for a bit. I'm going to be going with the fluff that 1000heathens created alongside another couple of posters (Sorry for forgetting names right now, just pop in here and complain to get your recognition. tongue.png) SO these guys are the start. And...... yeah.

The Troubled Child

Brother Libertain was a problem child from the day he was born. Recruited from the Civilized World of Berkley, he was a natural candidate, having been part of a gang, known as the "Hardcore Youth". The gang reveled in the harsh, fast, emotional music that originated on Terra in M2. During an Uprising of the PDF, Libertain and his gang road around the city of Hartshorne, finding the PDF officers and kidnapping them in their groundcar. They lynched them out of hate and vengeance, not for turning from the Emperor, but for killing their loved ones. The Marines Malevolent arrived on the planet to find Libertain and the other "Hardcore Youth" members leading a popular revolution against the rulers. The chapter took special interest in Libertain after he took on a group of corrupt Arbites with nothing but a Berkley-pattern Autogun, and machete. He was saved from death by Squad Arcades, who then knocked him out and flew him away to the orbiting Battle Barge Verdun, and mindwiped him..... For some time.

After a decade, he began to recall his past life, however, he accepted his current situation, and continued to fight on. Libertain was allowed to continue on without a further mindwipe, as he had proven himself in the Siege of Fort Loudon, where he, along with the rest of his chalk, infiltrated the fort via Landspeeder Storm, and took out Earthshaker positions commandeered by Human auxiliaries of the Tau Empire. He was initiated as a full brother after the Siege, and has proven himself a fierce warrior.

++ADD TO KILL-TEAM ROSTER?++

The first brother I completed. A basic marine body, with a Catachan head on a brownstuff neck.

And yes, I am going with a Punk theme for this guy. I may add the Black Flag bars as a campaign badge.

The army progresses a little bit!

The Regulator

The air of Novagrad was choked with smoke, the remnant of what had been a hab zone occupied by traitors of The Brotherhood of the Day. At 0100, XI Centuria command ordered Artillery squadron Viper to take position in the area North-West of Bridge 84-W, to bombard traitor command centres in the middle of the habs. Brother Hyde had been in Whirlwind 1, nicknamed "The Regulator", and now sat on the bank of the Calgar RIver. Fragging Ultra's, he thought to himself. What has the High Oaf of Macragge done here, that the mortals have named a river after him? He looked out into the river, observing the wrecks of the Wet Navy's battleships, checking for glints from monoculars that may be observing for a counter bombardment. He was looking over the wreck of the Gladius, when his vox-bead squelched. "Red legs, return to base, for refitting", came the command from Brother-Lieutenant Savorsk. "We'll be needing your squadron to support the remaining Wet Navy ships. The traitors are bringing their own up the river". The feed ended, and Hyde was already embarking the gunner's compartment of the Whirlwind. As the driver, Brother Attar started the armored vehicle, Hyde produced a lho-stick from a mag pouch attached to his belt. He lit it, and took to watching the displays in his compartment. Today was going to be another long day in Novograd.

Alright, I decided to start putting paint brush to plastic yesterday, and this is what I've got so far. I'm extremely satisfied with the coat of yellow I have, and I can't wait to finish this beast, because what Marines Malevolent is complete without a Whirlwind?

Alright, sorry for the delay. I did not pick up Devestators..... I did however pickup Sternguard, Tac Marines, and the Iron Hands upgrade for that bionic goodness. The Cap'n for the list has been modiefied. He now has a Thunder Hammer, Combi-Melta, and no jump pack.

Tactical Squad #1 is put together now, though. Now for the paint. :P

The Avenging Flame

The last fingers of light from the local sun, Sundas, are leaving Novograd as 1st Squad advances through the riverfront habs. Comms stream in from the front just 10 miles to the east. "Get a damned Russ over here, the bastards are breaking through!" shouts some undoubtedly doomed junior officer, panicking as his first command is shot to pieces around him. Unbeknownst to him, the armored company responsible had been taken out on the way by lascannons in the habs. They hadn't made it across the bridge, a mere 5 miles from their home base. 1st Squad was tasked with taking the weapons teams out.

Brother Jäger, the squad's flamer operator, was in his prime. He held his Mk. IX Flamer in one hand, while checking his auspex. He already found several mobs of cultists in basements of the complex, and lead the demi-squad to them. As they stalked through one of the more intact buildings, a large blip appeared on the device's screen. "Libertain, and MacAllen, we have a larger target nearby, possibly a traitor, follow me, Barret, and Delgado, find a way to flank them". The marines signal the okay on comms, and Jäger follows the auspex to the target. When they find the door, Jäger, Libertain, and MacAllen stack up. Libertain kicks the door in, and Jäger storms through the door, weapon and scanner held in front of them.

The room is occupied by cultists, as well as a member of The Brotherhood of The Day........

And here is Brother Jager, with his face covered in soot from his weapon. SO the first infantryman is completed for my army. WOOHOO!!!

Alright, so I've mostly got the 1st Tactical Squad done, I just have to paint the new bases and rewash some areas of the armour.

The bases are Fenris Games Incursion 30mm DS Profile bases.

Thank you! That's the look I've been going for, but it's been getting tough, as I haven't been using a premade wash. I've been using a Scorched Brown paint, and dipping the brush in water to to get the right consistency. I think it comes out alright though.

Alright, so that's a sleepless night used to my advantage. Got some presents from GW in the form of Scouts and a Deathwatch conversion kit.

And yes, the Mk 3 marine has a shield attached to his power pack.

Also, decisions, decisions. Who should command second squad? Loser commands the Devestators.

Alright long time no update.

THe PF Marine is in command of my Tactical Squad with the Power Maul guy commanding the Devestators. I'm currently working on the neophytes, who are having their bolters replaced with some Anvil Industry weapons. Will provide pics at some point this week.
