Dreadnova
So I thought I would pass along this rules query I got answered by FW. I had asked if I take a Mor'Deythan Strike Squad as part of Coils of the Hydra could I also take a Darkwing Storm Eagle (which is also RG specific) as a dedicated transport and FW said you could. This is cool as this means my AL can get two unique units for the price of one. BrotherCaptainArkhan
Keep your hands off my unique units! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289957-coils-of-the-hydra-ruling-from-fw/#findComment-3660765 Share on other sites
Custodian Athiair
Yeh but they're still from the same legion which is mildly disappointing :P Especially since there are so many good units from other legions - although I don't know a lot about the Raven Guard units as I'm not a major fan of them. But cyclone missile launcher Iron Warrior terminators sound a lot more fun. hisdudeness
Too bad random responses from staff don't really matter. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289957-coils-of-the-hydra-ruling-from-fw/#findComment-3660946 Share on other sites
Pavement Artist
I would imagine OP emailed the Forge World rules FAQ address, in which case, it is as close to an official ruling that you are going to get at this time. Not quite the same as asking a random staffer. hisdudeness
Give me 20 mins with MS Word and I can have an email from FW stating the exact opposite. Emails from staff have never been a valid source of FAQ answers. I'm not saying OP or the email is wrong, I'm just saying it's not official in any way. The title makes it sounds like a FAQ had been issued...instead it is just a random email. The title makes it sounds like a FAQ had been issued...instead it is just a random email. In no way does my original post allude to anything like an FAQ being posted. I clearly stated I contacted them and the response they gave. I did not try to pass it off as any more or less official than it was. It was a personal rules question that I asked them and when I got an answer thought the 30k community might like to know as well. Might want to check that cynicism. Plague Angel
Except in the case of Forge World, they do have a rules inquiry e-mail address listed right in their books and lists, and they do respond to it. hisdudeness
Dreadnova, I said your TITLE makes it sound like FAQs are up. Yes, you do state that it is an email in the body of the post; but that is not stated from the title...and that is what people will read first. This is also not cynicism, this is making sure new players don't start thinking random emails are in any way official. If they did they might start emailing GW and think it means something. Playing a rule off an email is the same as a house rule until the answer is posted in a manner that everyone has access to the source ruling...instead of second hand. Plague Angel, see above. Second hand rules interpretations from the interwebz does not constitute an official ruling on the matter. Just pointing this out for newer players.
