Vash
Turned out really nice! Very clean painting and I do like that your able to handle black/very dark grey. I can't do it right my self. Chapter Master Furious
@Vash I use Eshin Grey base, then wash with Nuln oil, then layer with Eshin Grey again, then highlight with Administratum Grey. Very simple process :) elmo and Vash 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3833753 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
They look great, the colour scheme works very well especially on the standard bearer. Marshal Argos
Very nice indeed. I really like the choice of colors, (especially the shoulder armor) as they turned out really good. What else shall you be adding to your army? WarriorFish
I agree, the shoulder stripe looks very nice - simple but ties all the models into the colour scheme neatly :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3834097 Share on other sites
elmo
Great work Furious. Grey can be difficult as when not done well it ends up looking like bare plastic but you have pulled it off Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3834218 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Furious
@Marshal Argos thanks :) I hope to get the Cadian Defence force.. which is $200 (Canadian) just so i can get a boost in models. but thats the idea haha :P @Warriorfish thanks again my friend! and it was a last minute detail on the shoulder, but like you said, it tied everything so well @Elmo9141 thank you my friend, I was worried it would turn out like bare plastic! but glad it didn't haha XD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3834252 Share on other sites

Vash
Yah I am using Eshin grey too, but... my results are not always what I want. Anyhow, looking forward to see more models from you. Guest
down to the red/maroon accents, this was pretty close to how I was envisioning my guard force's color scheme. you've done a superb job with yours though and I don't know that I'll be able to match the quality. Very impressive. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3834637 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Furious
@gmarks thanks my friend, the colour scheme i've chosen is a common combo (light/dark grey, black etc). Chapter Master Furious
So im back with a bit of an update I bought the Cadian defence force on ebay for about $130 CAD ( without shipping) which is a huge deal! so I've been busy putting all those guard together and tanks, so took me awhile to actually start painting something! So Decided to start with the Leman Russ : It was a pretty simple process, though it took awhile to decide which grey ( either the Dawnstone or Eshin) i would use for the main body of the tank. so i decided to go with the Dawnstone as this was the same grey i used on the flak armour for the Guardsmen anyways hope to be back with more updates CM Furious WarriorFish, CoffeeGrunt, Kierdale and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3853322 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
I like it, it's a bold and imposing scheme for a tank - with your new purchase we will have much to look forward to :) Will you be drilling the barrels out? It makes a big difference to the model and is easy on heavy bolters. WarriorFish
That's a really nice grey you've got there once again, the red and white accent it just right! Great job, the scheme will only look better the more vehicles wear it I think transfer would really make the colours pop, especially if you lined them in black. Do you have another vehicle spare for the Big Guns challenge next year? WarriorFish
It will officially start in January, I'd recommend building and priming the tank before to give yourself an easier ride ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3883085 Share on other sites
our_baz
I continue the sentinments of warriorfish. I really like that grey. It gives a nice crisp finish, great stuff! elmo
It is a nice factory fresh finish but it is screaming out for some weathering with all those edges and rivets and I have to agree with WarriorFish that a few black decals would not hurt ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3885711 Share on other sites
The Pounder
Nice and neat scheme, I like the grey with the red. I agree with Elmo9141 a little bit of weathering would be nice. Though I do have a tendency to over do it! scatmandoo
I like it. Looks like a great tank and nicely done. Nothing wrong with a touch of weathering though Regiments always need new replacements. Chapter Master Furious
so just a quick update on my second infantry squad complete. pardon the poor quality photo. since I'm off school, should have more time to sink into my guard, so hopefully an army shot will be up soon :) seasons greets to all CM Furious WarriorFish, CoffeeGrunt, CyderPirate and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3893615 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Very nice, your army is going to look great when they're all on the table together. More bonus points for red berets too ;) I'm still loving how the whole scheme comes together so well, the colours complement well and suit the base too. Enjoy your holiday - especially if you paint more models which I will look forward to :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289978-astra-militarum-gregorian-101st/page/2/#findComment-3893760 Share on other sites
our_baz
Such a nice colour scheme. The red next to the grey sets it off a treat. Nice kit bash as well giving the serg a beret to set them apart. Excellent stuff, please post more!!!
