so back again with a complete heavy weapon squad (once again pardon the poor quality on some of the photos, working on a Light box)

so there you have it my first heavy weapon squad

@walter h: so I do have some regimental insignia on the left shoulder pads on all of my troops (red line with the winged skull motif)

but not unit i have completed my platoons, I'm going to wait on the squad markings

@WarriorFish: I did notice that the bases are lacking a bit :tongue.:, next time going to include more rocks/ equipment on the bases, give it more

depth and narrative.

so all i have left to paint so far in my force is as follows:

1 Valkyire

1 Tempestus squad (5 man)

1 infantry squad

1 platoon command squad

1 Commissar (Officio Prefectus model)

when complete, i will be at 1020 points.

so I'm going to finish what i have first so that I can gather more $$ for more units, and as well

i'll be back at college next week so my time will be limited.

but I would like to say thanks for all of comments and responds that you have all given me! I am

loving how my Astra Militarum army is progressing, as this is my first non- power armour army (EVER)

So once again look forward more progress on the Gregorian 101st! (finally named them!)

Edited by Chapter Master Furious

once you pop you can't stop! seeing you've hit the 1000 pts mark i'm affraid the next stop is 1500 pts! ;)

I noticed that you've not used your lascannons yet, if so, how about gluing two of them together, cut of their barrel and glue it on again upside down. put a pin in it and you can mount it on your valkyrie (pin the missile pods too so you can switch between valkyrie and vendetta). also, don't glue in the wings for easy transportation

They look really good, don't forget to drill the barrels if you have the tools as that makes a bit difference. For future HWTs don't be afraid to mix in different bits from other Guard bits to spice them up, for example using standing legs so you can use the kneeling ones for other gunners etc :) Great to be watching the Gregorian 101st form up we'll be needing a group picture soon :D

I'm back with more progress! I'm trying to squeeze as much painting in this week as i can before i have to head back to school.

So i Completed my Officio Prefectus Commissar, which turned out a lot better than i expected

since I've completed him, I decided to move on to starting to figure out a colour scheme for my squad of Tempestus Scions, and i came up with this:

2015 01 06 18.39.47

2015 01 06 18.40.04

2015 01 06 18.40.07

Honestly im not sure how i feel about it, might need to think it over. But as always let me know what you think, and comments and suggestions are always welcomed!

They both look great, the white and black on the Commissar are very good along with the details - you should be pleased with him! I like the Scion scheme too, I'm thinking of something similar for mine. Red is a strong colour and goes well with black (just ask the Inquisition!). You've done us proud with the work you've been producing, keep it up :tu:

Thanks Warriorfish for the Feedback! though I wasn't too pleased with the highlight for the red armour, i used mepheston red and looked to much like a fire engine red.

so for the second Scion i painted i highlighted the armour with wazadakka red:

2015 01 07 23.34.38

2015 01 07 23.35.37

which turned out A LOT better! more of a maroon/ crimson i was looking for!

hoping to get the last two guys done today! and more picture will be coming soon!

CM Furious

I find there isn't much difference between the GW reds, seems like there's only really two of them - Red Gore and Blood Red (or whatever they're called now)! Looking good, I may have to adopt a similar scheme for my Scions when I get them done...

As promise i have finished my Scion Squad!

2015 01 08 21.28.39

and they are a nice looking punch. hoping to make them into a 10 squad at some point.

now just three things to do on my list (Valkyrie, Infantry squad, platoon command squad)

and that should be the first 1000 points done!

Great work, all they need is the side of the bases tidied up and the bolt pistol and melta barrels drilled and they'd be perfect :D You've got a good pace going so don't let up and you will soon be at 1000pts! :tu:

so once again comments are always welcomed and see you all in the next update.

The scheme looks great on it, you have no excuses not to do another (or two...) ;) The grey is nice with the highlighting and I still like your basing but I think it could do with a little more colour. Have you thought about picking out some of the bits and bobs in metal for example the sensor type arrays on the front, and the piping on the engines? It'd help break up the grey and round the model off nicely.

Hello Fellow Commanders

So as i stated before in my previous post, been busy with school and life, BUT as of yesterday i officially finished the first 1000 (roughly) points of the Gregorian 101 Regiment! this is a milestone in my hobby carrier as i am finally fulling a long time ambition of collecting Imperial Guard Astra Militarum army for quite some time now ( almost 4 years).

So To celebrate this milestone I have (attempted) taken some Army shots of the current force as of now. Still working on lighting issues for pictures as of now, but all in due time. But without further adue, heres the Gregorian 101 Regiment.

It all depends on what you want...

Do you collect for gaming, fluff or because you like the look of a model?

Personally if it looks good then I will get it no matter how well it works on the table ;)

Bulgryns/Ogryns would not be a bad choice and they seem to be on most peoples painting list.

Thinks **Hmmm, Ogryn painting challenge**
