Scythes of the emperor.... Update 13/11/18

Recommended Posts

Just stumbled over this thread and realized: Hey, you are that guy from facebook!

Like I said there, really cool builds and painting! The black and yellow works very well and the rust/ weathering just

gives them some nice extra touch.

Like the cowboy said to Lebowski: "I really do like your style, dude!"

Guess who's back, damn....has it been this long since I updated my thread?

Well as we all know and can appreciate, life got in the way, but my head BACK in the game and here's Been what's happening

First up a little bit of a throw back pic,

So the termie on the left was when I was 18/19 and obviously the fella on the right is my abbadon conversion and where my painting is at now.

Now onto what I've been working on

I know it's not much but bare with me as I'm getting back into it

Thanks for looking as always

Looking good my Sothan brother! I know of this warp turbulence called LifeTM for it has affected my own work this past year most frustratingly.

Aiming to get rocking on my small warband through the holiday season.

Great to see a new character and with a power scythe no less :D I've been eyeing those Death Guard parts too!

Your icons look really cool.

However, I wonder now and when, if Scythes even make sense as combat weapons...

Hmm I'm not sure you're quite getting the whole 40k thing...

More seriously, are you serious? A big blade on the edge of a piece of wood was been a mainstay warfare for millenia before we decided standing further away form each other while fighting was a better idea. Spears, Halberds, bilhooks, pikes and all variants thereof are all perfectly lethal; you just might need a bit of room to swing or stab them most effectively. That Scythe in particular has a grip very near the weapon head, so you can effectively use it like an extra big dagger for stabbing if there isn't room for a swing.

That, plus remember the scene from Interview with the Vampire when Louis cuts right through Santiago in the Parisian catacombs below the theater? Brutal.
