Eisenhorn31388
Quick question: What is the color scheme of the 8th Pardus Armored? I am hoping to field an armored company (or close to) with the infantry representing the Tanith First, and I do not know how to paint the tanks. Any help or reference would be appreciated! Fibonacci
Wow. The Lexicanum that is usually so reliable for things like this has a lot of.[Needs Citation] Here is what it does have: Appearance & UniformThe Pardus 8th wore tan fatigues, while their tanks were painted in camo patterns according to the operation's theatre. On Hagia they were painted green and blue, while on Enothis they were painted dust red.[Needs Citation] If you can get your hands on "Honour Guard" or "Double Eagle" by Dan Abnett, you might get a first hand description from those books. WarriorFish
Good job Fib. Sounds like you have a lot of freedom doing the tanks which makes it a lot easier :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290081-8th-pardus-armored/#findComment-3663574 Share on other sites
Eisenhorn31388
Awesome. That makes it easy to make something up. Never done camo before, not really something I am confident enough to paint, but it seems that maybe a simple tan could work. Thunderhawk3015
Its much easier to do camo on a tank than on infantry, trust me I know. The color decisions are easy, the trick is not overdoing it. Besides, how will you expand your painting horizons if you don't try new things ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290081-8th-pardus-armored/#findComment-3664505 Share on other sites

hendrik
here are some examples of camo patterns i've used on my models. since i'm basing my camouflage on WW2 german camouflage it also means the camo is the crew's responsability, hence patterns differ a lot in my army! using simple earswaps to make connected dots: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223619_zpsjikwrzyz.jpg drybrushed striped camo: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7542_zps46e675ae.jpg plain painted stripes in front, drybrushed stripes in the back: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/DSC_7536_zps6564ee18.jpg patterned camop with dots: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20130824_214114_zps8a0e15a6.jpg all of the camouflage patterns were relatively easely to do. you can always try to make some plasticard skirts for a chimera and paint those in the camo pattern to see if you like it before you paint the actual camo pattern Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290081-8th-pardus-armored/#findComment-3664859 Share on other sites
