deathspectersgt7
Warrior Brood by C.S. GOTO . Was a Good Read minus the multi-lasers. Helsreach was ok. Larkyn
I know the Night Lords trilogy was sorta discounted, but I'm gonna put my 2 cents in for them. They are, without a doubt, amongst my favorite 40k books ever. Storm of Iron was cool and all, but I like the idea of a downtrodden, understrength warband just fighting to survive. And ADB brought this, along with a handful of funny lines and quips. The infamous "so, how are you" is one of my favorites, along with Vraal's "heroic" charge in the first book. Sure there's not as much dakka dakka as other books mentioned, and I do realize the OP asked for dakka dakka, but I certainly don't think they should be discounted altogether. Iron Father Ferrum
who actually enjoys Goto's novels. . . so I guess it takes all kinds. Hold the vox. What the hell did you say!? Rynn's World is definitely in the right arena but I'd say Helsreach is actually a little more off-centre in to being slightly more involved. That comment was aimed, in order, at the Soul Drinkers series, the Horus Heresy novel Battle for the Abyss, and another member of the boards who quite vehemently defended C.S. Goto's works as being good, readable 40K fiction. Which part are your objecting to? Because I'm a little lost here. Hyaenidae
I have to put my vote in for Brothers of the Snake. Damn, nearly forgot about this book. Yeah, Brothers of the Snake is definetley in my top five fave 40k shoot-em-up books ever. The '300' moment against the Orks was epic. Brother-Chaplain Kage
I have to put my vote in for Brothers of the Snake. Damn, nearly forgot about this book. Yeah, Brothers of the Snake is definetley in my top five fave 40k shoot-em-up books ever. The '300' moment against the Orks was epic. Yeah, it was very well done. Until I read that book, I had never considered that orks were one of the few, if only, xenos that were about the same size as them and could properly look a marine in the eyes. SteelPaladin
In terms of nearly non-stop marines wrecking face books, I found Wrath of Iron to be pretty much perfect. I was a big fan of Wraights Iron Hand short stories going in, and man, Wrath of Iron just kicks everything up a notch or two. His marines are just freaking scary.
