Will Horus speak to Dorn, Sang and the Khan before the end?

Recommended Posts

What do you think? Do you think there will be any dialogue before the end? Or will it simply be as it is now, Horus turns up at Terra and war starts? I'd kind of like to hear some dialogue between them all, Sanguinius, Dorn and the Khan trying to figure out why Horus has done and Horus perhaps taunting his brothers or offering them one last chance to bend the knee to him.

He and Sanguinius have a fight dialogue, iirc. I doubt he speaks to any of his brothers though, and frankly that is more realistic. It wouldn't make much sense for him to try and contact them or for Dorn and the Khan to let themselves be contacted.

There are no words to be spoken.

Just a look to say 'Goodbye'.

And then the silence, it is broken,

As we scream our battle cries!

To be less lyrical, I think there will be words exchanged, but more along the lines of "Listen to your blue clad wretches yelling of courage and honor..." and "You're still a slave, Angron" in Betrayer.

I hope the angel and horus have a fight like kenobi and skywalker in the last starwars WITH A SLIGHT CHANGE. A sword fight which leave whole sections of the ship in ruins and dialogue that IS INTENDED TO leave us heartbroken AND DOES SO.

Fixed that for you.

"Only a pawn of Chaos deals in absolutes, Horus!"

I'd love my angel to walk in sword drawn and just look and grimace then charge, after an intense scene of dodge evade slash horus grabs his wings rips him to the ground and then offers him a chance to serve.

Sang then looks his brother in the eyes and says I accepted my destiny and place in this world you were never content with your accolades and honour and chaos corrupted your soul.

Horus spits in his face and says honour be damned you fool, then brakes sang and drops him to the ground

I disagree, there needs to be some talk. These are brothers here for all intents and purposes, and especially Horus and Sanginius already have a history and dialogue.

If I was Sanguinius, I would need to hear the why. Rob vs Angron was great, it was to the point, it was filled with passion, and it got both sides views across very very quickly, there was no need for anything further as Angron's views are very simple in the grand scheme of things.

With Horus however, I want to see more I want to hear it from his lips, especially with the Emperor as well.

As for Dorn, I think once Horus comes in-system we will have some dialogue. Dorn's been a great view into the feeling of loss, (The Last Remembrancer) so I think there would be value in getting him to own up to it finally and face down Horus.

See I think after signus though Sang knew his fate he accepted the darkness and he saw how the universe was destined if Horus ruled, he was broken by the trials and the red thirst had descended.

I like the idea of some banter at the end or the start but there needn't be a why brother scenario, horus feared sang turning & only offered once the gods blessed him

Yeah but it doesnt explain why. You may accept your brother has failed, your brother has spit on his oaths, you can accept that, without understanding. When standing before him though, wouldnt you still ask why?

Horus feared Sanguinius yes, but that still doesnt explain any reasoning. If Horus even deigns to speak with Sangy after he has ascended, I guess we will see, but with the Emperor, oh man, I need several solid pages of discourse.

Well not a 'why are you about to kill me' but a 'why have you killed the dream of unity'. :p

I think that Fatalism is going to be a running theme for the Angels though as we move the later half (I guess?) of the Heresy. Need a book focusing on Amit...

I'm hoping ADB gets the capstone, the battles between Horus and Sanguinius, and finally Horus and Emperor in one mighty book to seal the deal.

I just hope that happens within the next 5 years. :/

Horus Rising came out in 2006. I wouldn't expect to see an actual novel about Horus's final duels until some sort of milestone year. 2016 could work I guess, but 2021 or 2026 would be better. Or even 2031, with a 25th anniversary release of Horus Rising and "Horus Falls" together in a slip case?

But anyways, I'd be shocked if it was anyone but Abnett.

2031...I cant wait that long. :p

I really cant see Abnett doing it. His world building is unparalleled and his high level concepts are great, but his dialog doesnt touch ADB, for me, especially Primarchs.

I'm not saying anything about shoulds! Just that I wouldn't expect a major event like that to be written by anybody but BL's oldest and most trusted best-selling author, from a publishing standpoint.

ADB is still comparatively new, though no longer "the new guy." Of course, by the time 2031 rolls around, Abnett and Graham might have retired and ADB may be the oldest author left around. :P

Quiet you!

Lest we get yet another Isstvaan book!!!

You mean that ridiculously awful affair with the lava and the collapsing towers and the horrible dialog?

On second thought, let's not borrow anything from the Star Wars prequels.

"You were the Warmaster! You were supposed to illuminate humanity, not sell their souls. You were to lead the Crusade, not turn it around."
