At first glance... I thought the chain section seemed somewhat fragile. But It's growing on me!

That being said... I never understood the old chain fist... or how adding a chain sword to a power fist made it that much more powerfull as the fluff describes :/

They could have done something similar to this Chainfist

Only underslung beneath a regular Contemptor fist. Alternatively, they could've taken the Chainblade from that Ironclad Chainfist and pulled off a Tyberos the Red Wake and had two of them coming out of the bottom of the Contemptor fist. That sounds pretty cool, actually...

Its the combination of the powerfists powerfield and the heavy duty chainblade attachment. Plus the wielder can keep preasure on the targets armor longer with the blade then with a single swing with the fist,

This one was just plain lazy, un imaginative, and unreal in terms of logical application use (suspending belief for plasma weapons and such). Attaching a chainsword to a finger doesn't make it better at cutting through armor.

FW could've at least done what other hobbyist have done already and replace the fingers with the Phobos bolter chainblades, they at least look cool.
