minigun762
Not in terms of shelf life but capacity to produce models. If I'm going to paint 1000 points of space marines, will I need to buy 1 can of primer or 10? Will I eat through a dozen bottles of paint? Etc I'm sure it depends on what is being created so looking for rough guidelines and estimates. Aqui
Well, last year in ETL I primed: 40 Marines (RTB01s, so slightly smaller than modern ones) 1 Chaplain on Cold one (Counts as bike) 1 Power Armoured Librarian 1 standard Command squad 1 Ironclad Dreadnought 1 Storm Talon 1 Terminator (used to be a Lysander counts as) 1 Power Armoured Chapter Master 1 Razorback with Las/Plas turret Using ONE GW spray can (Chaos Black). Admittedly, I didn't always use an even coat on each model (some were barely covered in a few places), but it was enough for the basecoat to go on and stay on. As for the paint you use for basecoating, well it depends on how many coats etc, but I used one and a half pots of Kantor Blue for the above. Brushes and glue, again depend on what is being assembled/painted and how they are used, but I hope that gives an idea of what to expect Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290419-longevity-of-paint-primer-brushes-and-glue/#findComment-3669802 Share on other sites
Razblood
One 400ml can of primer should handle that with some to spare, as for your other paints it's as Aquilanus said it entirely depends on how many coats you are applying and how much you are thinning your paint. Chaeron
I would sadly say it's not a precise science - and as stated, thinner coats go further... Doing some shopping and while $$ is always tight,I don't want to underestimate the amount of material required. Kaedes Nex
I always run out of primer before I run out of paint. 1000 points is only 1 can of primer, though. Maybe slightly more if the first can runs out but you'll barely use the second can.
