DeathCompanyIRL
Evening Brothers, I am looking to include a squad of Sternguard Veterans in my Blood Angel army , i purchased a Death Company box and a box of the plastic Sternguard veterans. I have a slight problem , whatever i draw , paint , sculpt - no matter how much others like it , it doesn't look right to me , like a psychological block of sorts.I was hoping people could give me some tips on how they could look / pictures of their own models to serve as a guide for my own , hopefully this will help me before i need to seek therapy! (and yes I've tried google images , but its not providing much inspiration) Thanks DCirl Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290529-help-with-sternguard-vets-models/ Share on other sites
GrunTeufel
My idiocy knows no bounds sometimes. I read your thread as vanguard veterans. Here are my sterguard. With the help of death company sprue you can create some really cool looking stuff. Especially if you like the look of the old sternguard marines. Last pic is my own kit bash/conversion. Death company legs, baal pred torso, death company bolter arms, sanguinary guard head and a pair of new sternguard pauldrons. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-04-10142904_zps217ebbea.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-04-10142841_zps544da6bc.jpghttp://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk37/jacksonseverimben/Blood%20Angels/2014-04-10142542_zpsc30a1e26.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290529-help-with-sternguard-vets-models/#findComment-3672738 Share on other sites

GrunTeufel
I paint the are with shining gold. Wash with a mixture of mine. I don't really have a specific formula but if you want to know its blood red mixed with tamiya X-1 clear black. I thin it and apply to the area with gold. Paint over the excess wash with gold and highlight it with a mixture of mythril silver and shining gold. Then a final small highlight with just silver. I am gonna have to do a tutorial one of these days. People keeps asking. I am quite happy though, it means I do it somewhat right.
