Baneblade to fellblade conversion

Recommended Posts

Evening

Ive just posted this over on my 1st company thread but as its going to be a couple of months project following vow 1 I thought Id give it its own topic.

Ive also got time between now and finishing my first vow to mull over my options of chopping this up.

This is an ebay purchase so I didnt make it

Ive given it a wash and some of it fell apart but its not too bad and more importantly all the bits I need are there and more importantly its completely unpainted..... so no stripping smile.png)))

Now the idea is to add machinators tank kit (which I'll order later today) which will replace the turrets and fuel tanks

Now I dont know if this is a crazy idea but I think it would look a whole lot more hulking if it was about 3cm wider.

There is actually a cut point straight down the middle where I could cut and then patch

The turrets moving to the middle anyway

The engine is easy to modify

The front panel is going to be replaced by a FW UM land raider hatch

Why wouldnt I do it?

Im going to drop this in its own thread when I start as its parked until Vow 1 is done but Im happy to take feedback on this idea

The idea is to cut along the red line

  • 3 weeks later...

As the board has been down Ive been down Ive taken the time to crack on with the fellblade

The resin parts I ordered came and Ive got to say they are great,

So I started to chop up the assembled ebay purchased baneblade using a dremmel and brute force!

Just as a side note if Im ever going to commit murder Im going to do it with this model as whoever assembled it has their finger prints all over it (in glue) so its a big sanding job.

Anyway heres the test fit with all the parts in place.

Ive also extended the barrel using one of my daughters pens and I think it works ok

Once this is done it'll be my Armour centerpiecehttp://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f372/rbrewster101/IMG_1998_zpsd2902dd3.jpg

good luck, I say try widening it. It'll make it look a bit less cluttered, and bigger is always better!

Thanks but its too late now

I went with the standard width and glued on all of the conversion parts as it would have meant splitting the rear cover and then making something to bulk out the generators.

I think in the end it looks ok.

Im just waiting to fit the rear tracks then Ill make a plasticard riveted plate to cover the top gap

Very nice looking model. The new turret looks so much better than the original.

Question? What tank is in the left corner, the one with hurricane bolters and flamer turret...

Hi

It's this that I made for fun. If you look on this page and the one before it's got the making of it
