Fit like!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have recently made friends with moogy over on dakka & he also frequents this  site too.

He says that it has  a great friendly community atmosphere, so I thought that I would give it a go.

I am looking forward to meeting lots of new folks and learning more about 40K

Cheers

Dantay

Hello Brother Najanus, I haven't been up to GW Aberdeen for quite a while, saying that I haven't actually played a game of 40K in about 3 months anyway (oh the shame!). I have no gaming group near me that I know of, so it would be nice to get some regular games going.

My friend that I play most regularly lives in Kirkcaldy

Do you go to GW Aberdeen regularly, or know of any local gaming clubs?

Next time the wife goes shopping I might see if I can sneak my case of Space Wolves along :)

Some kind of either WW1 or WW2 games and medieveal historical games, don't remember the name.

I'm pretty new to the 6th ed too, I took a long break between today and the latter half of the 90'ies when I played 2nd ed. I sold off my blood angels I had back then when I left high school and moved away for higher studies, so now I'm slowly builidng up a Iron hands successor based on the 6th ed rules, which now feels a little awkward thinking about 7th is probably out in a months time. GW stopped selling the 6th ed book on their online store. So the 7th ed release is pretty imminent.

I'm not really looking forward to it. Apart from that I personally just learning the 6th ed, I have a feel that for every new release the principle behind the makeovers seems to be to increase miniature sales, we see a overall net deflation in point prices of the models causing larger armies and the rulings of them kind of push for having allies. I read that this new 7th, will have pretty much free allying, and allow not adhering to force org chart, so soon you can pretty much field 10 vindicators or 10 heldrakes and nothing more and that would be a legal army. But I guess such rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt. We will see what happens when the book is out, meanwhile I'm painting up 2 tac squads with pods , a chapter master on bike with 5 bikers as troop choices and 2 lastalons. Hopefully I'll have 1k points done by the end of the month.

I have been into 40K since end of 2nd beginning of 3rd and have predominantly collected Space Wolves for most of that time. There have been spells where I drifted away, but if not the models, then the books & fluff are what have kept me in the game. I sold off all my armies except for the Sapce Wolves when wifey was expecting with our first-born, so now I juststick to the one army, with brief forays into the Grey Knight.

IF the leaked rumours and pictures are true, there will be 2 types of army. Battle forged which is the army which sticks to the Force Organisation Chart and Codex's and Unbond which is anything goes.

You can play either style against the other because a battle forged army will gain bonuses, to help it cope against unbound.

I think its their way of trying to keep everyone happy and boost sales a bit. You also have to consider that IF they also go mission centric with these mission cards, it no longer means an all out slug-fest to the death, some tactical thinking will need to be used to achieve your missions.

Besides an all heldrake army, cant hold objectives etc and has no warlord.... So we will see.

I took a sneak peek and your models look really nice and as an army pretty balanced too

Hail & well met to you Olisredan, how are things with you?

Hail and well met to you Dantay, and you too Najanus. smile.png

+1

Fit like your self!, while I live in south wales now its nice to see folks from back home..even if I don't know you. :)

I know it sucks having nothing close I used to live in a small village near Laurencekirk and there was basically 0% players around, had to take a 50min to 1hr bus trip to Aberdeen just to see if anyone was gaming. Aberdeen is a fair commute(as I'm sure you know ;) ) for a game, but if you get some good mates then its worth while.

Have a pleasant stay on the B&C.

Its actually really rather nice out here on the sea, its been a bit foggy at times though.

And yes i know where Auchenblae is, my wife has friends there, but no idea who they are, we also have some friends in Fettercairn and Luthermuir. And my ex is from Laurencekirk smile.png

It really is a small world eh?

Glad I could make your day. I am a Montrose man myself.
