badgermeister
Hi Im on my epic journey of building up 2 sizeable 30k forces. my love and joy is my mechanicus forces that will cap at around 3k with a warhound as a SH as no primarch equivalent is available yet. I have also started on a Calth based Word Bearer force. I have 20 tacticals plus Powerfist to start with and look to expand it with another 20 tacticals and 20 x despoilers + erebus (inc dark channeling) I will build it up to 2500pts then fill in the rest with Lorgar for the 3k point but........... At 2500pts its reasonable to expect a primarch to turn up - thats why a lot of us play 30k! At 2500pts - is it reasonable to have anything to face off a primarch considering my meta is fulgrim and mortarian? Does this point level make it an auto include as the only thing that can take them out is Lorgar (a la invisibility/puppet master?) thoughts please - even better, whats your meta at this level? TheForgottenAngel
With the new psychic phase I think you'll want Lorgar in your army and a diabolist. Lorgar will be extremely powerful. Ishagu
I run Horus in a 2k list :-P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290773-2500pts-to-primarch-or-not-to-primarch/#findComment-3678928 Share on other sites
Drippy
The only difference between my 2000 point list and my 3000 point list is Dorn riding a thunderhawk like a pony. Edit: Not really sure if his dedicated transport counts towards the Lords of War points total. Vardus
With the new psychic phase I think you'll want Lorgar in your army and a diabolist. Lorgar will be extremely powerful. Crusader Weber is this conformation of the changes in the new rule book, or are you just running on hearsay? The only difference between my 2000 point list and my 3000 point list is Dorn riding a thunderhawk like a pony. Edit: Not really sure if his dedicated transport counts towards the Lords of War points total. The last line of the text for the "Steed" of Dorn says that it does not count against the Lords of War total. To the question at hand, Horus being the most expensive Primarch to date and that he fits nicely in the 25% of 2000 points rule for the taking of a LoW, I think that the intention was for Primarchs to be available at "lower" points costs. At 2500 points you can have more goodies to back up your Primarch! badgermeister
i cant see any valid primarch lists at 2000pts though. i run predominantly ad mech and i'd just 'tech thrall meat shield' a primarch to keep him out of the way to secure the objectives with my other stuff. out of interest - what does your 2k including Horus list look like? Daddywarcrimes
I can't imagine including a primarch at less than 3k. Then again, I don't know what Sanguinus or the Wolf King will look like. For the moment, I'd rather spend the points on a Legion Stormlord, because everyone loves AV14 Super Heavy Assault Vehicles that can hold 2 units of 20 Tacticals. That, and I like the idea of the Stormlord crashing through a barricade or a minefield, or a fortress wall and disgording warriors over both sides like they're jumping over the gunwhales of a beached longboat.
