@Brother Heinrich: Go for it! Haha.

@Olisredan: Actually there is blood dripping from the nose but i missed it while photographing, the angle doesnt help.

@AlphariusOmegon108: The questions!!!! Haha, i use a wet palette to mix the colors (Black,Kantor,Macragge, white) and it takes 3-4 paint sessions to complete. Hope this helps.

Another great marine, although it looks like the wings on his shoulder pads could use a wash and a highlight. It may just be the angle? Either way it's a fantastic model! Hopefully we will se at least a full squad of these guys painted up.

very cool .

a crisp paintjob with great subtle lightning so as not to swamp the model and a simplistic brooding pose  that oozes terror

he looks like he is calmly purposefully striding toward you to end you as you are running in glue as in some nightmare scenario

Hello,

I will be sharing with you my progress with the VIII legion, based on the artwork seen in Massacre.

Terror Squad Headsman

The skin was painted with flesh colors and glazed with black. Then the skull was added to finish the warpaint effect.

C&C welcome.

Amazing war paint looks great and love the lightning claw

Thanks for the support people! smile.png

@alejandrinus: Its dawnstone, administratum, black and white.

I dont know how big this army will get, I prefer to paint them as individuals. They are great fun to make tho.

WIP - Any guesses?

Guessing the WIP is that apothecary in the Massacre book?  Also, that Heavy Chainsword wielder is a beast!  My goodness!  I like how you used a black helmet, I know I have a handful of black-helmed guys in my army as well.  Funny how I was just not 15 minutes ago looking at the bits I am going to use to make my H. Chainsword user along with the other eight members of the 9-man Terror Squad I plan on working on.

I love how simple your models are painted and how smooth they look.  A real credit to the VIII!  Keep them coming!

I feel like the Night Lords are like the Monstars from Space Jam. They just go towards the nearest skilled hobbyist and soak up their time and talent!

(Hypothesis based on the sheer number of awesome Night Lords out there, not the lack of talent in other armies.)

@Armond: I'm glad you like him. Cant wait to see what you ll do with them.

@Marshal Sampson of Terra: Haha, what? laugh.png

You all guessed correctly, the WIP is indeed Llansahai. Sadly I am missing the apothecary gear, more upgrates on him soon.

@Pyromancer: So far! I hope you can say the same when he is finished.

I have been playing around with different terror markings, trying to give each one a unique look.

How? How the heck are you getting in there and able to make the smallest definition of teeth on the terror masks?! Bravo!

Pointy brush and thin paint is the usual way. That and a very, very, steady hand.

These are looking the business.

Just realised you fill in the grills on the helmets for a smooth face plate.

Do have to admit to wanting to know your colour choices for each layer. For the blues, red, and terror markings. Any chance of step by step pics too of each layer done?
