XIVth Fighting Company

I have been playing BT since the Armageddon codex came out, with a break during 2010 to 2013 (during 5th, because of money shortage and lack of space due to living in a dormroom.

Im not much of painter, but I love the Templars so i keep going. I also love their lore (To be a radical in the 41st Millenium you have to be pretty bat:cuss-insane)

I've took up the old army in december last year and here is the result this far. (Please excuse the crappy quality of the photos, I don't have a camera and uses my phone.)

First off, welcome Brother to the Eternal Crusade. As a long standing Sword Brethren (since Armageddon, awesome!) we open our ranks to you and look forward to adding your ZEAL to our endeavor.

You have an excellent looking crusade! Well done Brother! We would be further blessed by your contributions to your chapter in the E Tenebrae Lux forum painting competition. Once again, the Templars are called to defend the Imperium from the vile, the heretic, and the unforgiven.

Your sword has arrived at a most fortuitous time.

Welcome again!

Go here to make a vow. Do read the section on ETL III rules. Also, the AoD thread is a great place to ask questions.

Huh.  Can't say I ever once imagined including roses in Templar imagery.  It's a bit Sisters-ish, but at the same time, hearkens back to historical knights a bit, too.  The shapes on both could use refining, you're right, but the design on the side with the thorny-sword is very clever.

The one on the left looks like it could use a little more definition (shading possibly?), but I really like the one on the right. It's a cool concept and as FP pointed out, not very common among the BT, which I see as a good thing.

Play on good sir!

In gonna try to add some baal red wash to the Lines of the left one to add some dept too it.

There'll be more pics tomorrow!

You'd be better off just using a deeper shade of red paint, I think.  I'd consider thinning the design a bit, too.  The good thing about black as a primary color is you can easily clean things up ;)

Nice work, but not sure its my idea of cool. But thats why I keep repeating myself. It,s why we are Templars, we can mix it up and still stay true to the Crusade, smurfs is smurfs, wolves is wolves. BT iconography is up to the Marshall of the Crusade.

As long as it's black. smile.png

Somewhat better, yup.  Although now that I have a better angle, I can see just how overboard you went with the red wash on the turret

Generally, when you're mixing reds to get a lighter shade, stick to browns/yellows rather than white.  White will give you pink.  I would use Bleached Bone instead.  Likewise, when washing red, brown will generally do you more good than red.

From a paint perspective it looks pretty good both the vehicle and the thorns. However as a Templar vehicle, I don't like it. It just looks more like a chaos or maybe sisters scheme than anything Templar. I'm also confused by the half a hatch painted red and the turret painted red and white which isn't anywhere else on the tank.

@ Firepower: I say again, painting isn't my strong side, never been, I'm gonna try to clean it up. I'm not nearly as happy with the Red thorn razorback as with the sword one though.

@Acebaur: Hatches is becoming Red and White, which I run on most of my vehicles,  see the first post, LRCs and Whirlwind is painted that way, the rhinos have got this aswell since the first picture was taken.
