Where to find Combi Weapons for my WG

Hello all,

I am looking to find some combi weapons for my WG, specifically metas, but I think the other would be cool.

My question to you is where did you get your combi weapons? Is there a SM box that has them, or an online vendor (preffered) that you used, or did you mange to build them yourselves,

Thanks in advance Wolf Brothers

The new Sternguard kit has some nice ones in it as well, giving you combi grav an flamers which are nice.

Look on the SW Grey blog, Adam posted a tutorial there that works.

The other spot is from the 'Make your own Space Marine Captain/commander' kit.

Ebay or bits sites are good for this as someone who needed over 40 combi weapons for his TDAWG.

End of Line

Bits stores tend to have them, for example bits-world on ebay amongst others

Forgeworld just put put Tigris combi weapons too.

If you want old school, forgeworld to the terminator weapon sets , the tartaros one might suit you and give you a bunch of stuff to use.

Also Fytharin made an awesome combi flamer in her thread (page 3 about halfway down) with what looks like a bolter bolt bistol and flamer nozzle. It looks really great.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the shout out dantay. :)

Personally I would rather make my own to try and give them a wolfy feel. It seems like the combi's that are out there tend to be very generic looking and the fun thing about our models is that they tend to always have something wolfy about them. So to try and keep with that it may just be better to make it yourself. Whenever I cut into plastic though I actually take a lighter and heat my exacto knife (Pick a dull one that doesn't cut very well already as the heat will stress the metal and make it rather useless for cutting) but the warm blade helps cut through easier I've found.

I am a hobby newb so the task of creating guns sounds awesome, but is really intimidating. I also don't have many bits, so I was hoping that I could just buy a SW tac squad, and buy some plasma, flamer, and combiweapons so I can kit out 5 WG and 5 GH.

I also have both of the Special Order Marines from GW that I would like to bash into some wolf lords or battle leaders

My advice is practice on extra bits you know you’re not going to use. So all of those extra bolt pistols you get with your 10 man pack?

Is a good place to start. It’s really hard to get past that locked in fear of I can’t change the plastic for fear of ruining it but once you first try it you realize how forgiving plastic can be once covered in primer and paint. OR ask around the experienced players if they would let you dig through their bits. Most of my best add ons to minis have been from other peoples left overs. It’s kind of a shopping spree of Oooo that looks good, that’s cool. Even if you don’t have plans for them grab what looks cool. Just be sure to when you have a good bit collection yourself pass along the love to the newbies.

This is the coolest thing I have heard yet. I may have to see if my FLGS would be willing to organize something like this.

Almost all of my combi- weapons have been made from Storm Bolters.  They are wider, so it works pretty well to just remove half of the front barrel and then glue the barrel from the melta/plasma/flamer to the front. Add extra bits as necessary.

Here's an example of what one might look like. Check out the Wolf Guard leading the Scout Pack:

As Fyth says spares are your friend. I've found this (http://genesis40k.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/simple-combi-plasma-conversion.html?m=1) tutorial works very well with the spares from the space wolves box. Additionally if you are looking for some ready modeled combi weapons there are a few in the new sm box, plus the special weapons to make more if needed.

Depending on where you live and whats in my bits box. I have some spare combi-bolter parts left over from some forgeworld tartaros or phobos combi-bolters. You might be able to use these to put something together with a normal stormbolter.

O know I have atleast 1 phobos combi bolter kicking about but it has a combi grenade launcher attached to it..

If you are looking to magnetiize your WG so they can switch the type of combi they have i strongly recommend buying combi's from the sternguard box set. you can pick up each combi on ebay form £2.50 - 2.75. Probably can get a discount if you order in bulk.  I just found that the sternguard combi's had a wide enough area to fit a 2x1 magnet with out showing on the sides.
