Kriegsmacht
Hi all, a while ago I bought two weathering powders from forgeworld(Fresh mud and Dry Mud). I want to try them out and in the Model Masterclass book I seen a couple of examples of weathering powder being mixed with either White Spirits or Matt Varnish. I have both and was wondering if anyone knows which would be better? I want to use it for my bases. Thank you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290960-question-about-weathering-powders/ Share on other sites
Lorenzen
Matt varnish if you want it to dry wet looking, white spirit (or pigment fixative if you want to get fancy) if you want it to look dry Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290960-question-about-weathering-powders/#findComment-3683799 Share on other sites
Kriegsmacht
Sweet thanks Lorenzen :)Another question popped up. I have a tube of BUrnt Umber oil paint I bought the with the varnish and spirits after reading through the masterclass book. Think if I added some of that in the mix it would yield interesting results? I want to try new things with my ETL vows and this is something I never done before. Lorenzen
If you add oil paint to pigment & white spirit itll just become different coloured oil paint essentially. For our needs oils are best for washes or heavy blending imho.
