You can ally with yourself, so it's really easy to buff the number of WC you generate for those lists. .  

 

I stand to be corrected on this K&F, but you cant ally with yourself.  Your allies cannot be from the same faction.  You can however take multiple combined arms detachments, which is essentially the same thing.

 

No, that's right. It's functionally the same, but you have to pay the two Troops tax on the second detachment, not the one Troops tax we're used for Allied detachments. If you want to "ally with yourself," it's a second Combined Arms detachment, not an Allied detachment.

The difference doesn't really matter for Eldar and Daemons, the former have good cheap troops and the latter use troops to generate WC.
