beauf
Hi Guys, I've been a member of this board for longer than I can remember ( I think I even entered a design a marine banner contest many many years ago! ) And I've had various models and paints etc since I was probably 7 ( I'm 33 ). But all in all, I've spent a shed load, and done nothing. Well I've actually dug out some bits and bobs, grabbed some new paints and started to have a tinker Below is my first attempt at a model, any thoughts? changes? or tips for me? Like I said, go easy, if I get slaughtered they might go back in the cupboard for about 20 odd years Cheers! http://www.beauf.co.uk/40k/hawk.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291156-go-easy-first-attempt-at-a-hawk-lord/ Share on other sites
Chiv
Solid Paint Job as far as I can see, are you gonna freehand the chapter badge and tactical symbol? beauf
I'm not sure on those bits yet, might have a play on a spare shoulder pad see if I'm up to it! Wraith776
Nice purple colour, nicely done highlights. I'd say an all round pretty good job, definitely tabletop standard with a bit of work on the base. Monstra Sumus
The purple is a lovely shade. The second I saw his face, Darth Vader started talking in my head. Aspecti
Looks good, though the shoulderpad trim could perhaps be in a brighter gold, but that's just my opinion :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291156-go-easy-first-attempt-at-a-hawk-lord/#findComment-3691395 Share on other sites

Inquisitor Kravin
Looks good. I think the flesh looks a bit grey and unhealthy which gives it a slightly chaos-y feel but that's a niggle. Lovely purple. beauf
As for the face I initially wanted to do a Raven Guard successor chapter so found the Hawk Lords, liked the colour scheme... played on the lighter skin but the wash does make it look pretty damn unhealthy!Seems it took me so long to come to painting one they are now deemed an Ultramarine successor though lol...
