Castrmen Orth
Seeing the pics of mortarion has swayed me and I have settled on the death guard. I've always loved the playstyle also, lots of terminator of different sorts, I'd be using flamers for support and prob missile launchers for heavies. But I've always been put off by the scheme I hate painting over a white overcoat, so with that said, what would be the best way to approach their scheme? DuskRaider
Here's my scheme: Prime Chaos Black Heavy Drybrush of Ishabti Bone Wash of Agrax Earthshade Light Drybrush of Ishabti Bone Very Light Drybrush of Pallid Wych Flesh Green is as follows: Catachan Green Wash of Agrax Earthshade Drybrush Swirl of Elysian Green Armor Trim is: Warplock Bronze Heavy Layer of Agrax Earthshade OR I've started doing a more advanced scheme for my Destroyers and honestly I like it so much I may just repaint the vast majority of my Legion. It's much like the first one, but after priming and before drybrushing Ishabti Bone... Take some FW Aged Rust pigment, cut it down with Vallejo Medium Thinner, and apply a basecoat to the model. After it dries, cover the entire model in Vallejo Crackle Effect. After the Crackle Effect dries, you do the scheme as normal (Ishabti Bone drybrush etc.). The difference is, after you do the light drybrush of Pallid Wych Flesh, you apply Vallejo Medium Thinner to various parts of the model. Once you do that, take an old toothbrush and gently rub the paint off. This will give you a chipped paint effect. After that, use Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade in the crevices and whatnot. That will properly shade and give the armor a very weathered effect. Typhus Corrosion works well too. You can see some pictures on my Photobucket of what I'm trying to explain... Quality of the photos isn't the best, but I'm working with a phone camera.
