Lunawolves
How did the warp come into play? I have yet to read or find anything about it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291374-the-warp/ Share on other sites
Adra'Melek
Supposedly it is an energy well that feeds off (or is generated by lifeforce). When conscious beings came into existance they're thoughts began to shape it and created tides and eddies in it. As these swirled around they 'clumped' together and gained some form of consciousness of their own. I think that's how it WAS, not sure if it's still the same. Lunawolves
That sounds decent enough. Hmmmm. Very interesting on how it was made. Probably some ritual came into play millenniums ago and has had the power to roam freely. Hmmmmmmmm. Balthamal
Way back when it was described as a parallel dimension to the material universe but observed none of the metaphysics inherent. A big deal was made about how most of the sentient races in the galaxy have a presence or "soul-flame" in the warp which was correspondingly larger or smaller depending on their psychic talent, the tau being the exception to this rule. The emotions of these various races would have a parallel in the Warp, the stronger the emotion, the stronger the parallel. Eventually, dominant emotions from across the whole species began to coalesce in the depths of the Warp to the point where they became self perpetuating and could inspire and instil the emotions that gave birth to them in the mortal races which came to be: Khorne, embodiment of rage and violence, Nurgle, embodiment of decay and the fear of death, Tzeentch, embodiment of evolution and manipulation and Slaanesh, embodiment of pleasure and excess. Supposedly the souls of humans eldar etc would dissipate into the Warp upon death and in some cases be reborn again but with the powers of chaos formed and daemons being birthed therein that stopped.
