so I'm almost finished with the first 5 models of my first platoon. I want to get some input on how the camo looks looks. I'm planning on doing the tanks the same once I finish the platoon. Also I need to find out a good regiment number for the shoulder pads that mainly (via fluff) thats mostly infantry.

As far as I can tell it looks good, but some natural light would really help.

I like the pattern you've got on your fatigues. Will you be replicating that (or the simply solid colour of the hard parts of their armour) on the vehicles? If you will be doing that intricate scheme then it will look fantastic...though be extremely time consuming.

How about a bit of both? Blobs (for want of a better word) of the hard-armour solid colour, with patches of the dappled camo...?

I agree with Kier, it's a very nice scheme - looks a bit like a mix between tiger and desert and will give your army lots of character. I think the pattern could do with a bit of tidying up, making the colour sizes more consistent would make it easier to do (less randomisation). Smaller white blobs might also look better, but the colours you've picked are good.

Not all camouflage schemes will look good on vehicles and infantry so don't be afraid to modify it if required. Even if this is something simple like dropping one of the colours :) I am very much looking forward to seeing more!

I love the camo pattern, but I hate that you put it on the rifles...only snipers and rednecks do that. Proper soldiers do not.  More practically, it causes the gun to blend in with the man holding it, which is good IRL, but bad when you want your models to look good on the tabletop.

/edit/

The orange on the armor is a bit too glossy, any chance of applying a layer of flat varnish?  Also, the sliver is fine on the bayonet, but too shiny/bright for the butt of the rifle...

I see what you mean by the the camo on the weapons. I didn't use orange on the models. its just bad lighting on the shot. I'll try and do better on the next ones. I am going to use something to make it more flat, I don't like glossy models.

Edit:

also does anyone have any thoughts as to the regiment they should be in?

Betelguese 42nd Regiment "The Froods"

They are the ultimate answer.

on the 42nd regiment, what book is it from? I'm not finding anything on google.

*facepalm*

Does the name Douglas Adams mean anything to you?  You've been had...

I would just make up your own, there are more regiments in the guard than individual space marines, including the traitors, in the universe.  Mine are the 475th Numerican Combined Arms Regiment.
