Noise Marines Flawless Host diary

Hi guys :)

 

During all my hobby years I`ve been starting threads like this few times for different armies but never achieved success finishing whole army painted. But this time is different: I have met awesome guys in London Overlords club and finally decided to stick to my favourite slaaneshian theme 40k army.

This is 1650pts force of my noisy marines:

I know, nothing special. But I have to pain it tull 7th of June :D To do so, I`ve decided to paint it nicely up to 4-5 colours, cover it with Nuln Oil and do bases. Roughly like that unit:

Time for finishing touches will come later. Or not. You know, it all depends of my ebay buying new stuff schedule ;)

So next unit of 10 Noise Marines done. I have 5 of them to do, 2 Oblits, 5 Bikers, Lord, Maulerfiend and Heldrake. 10 days.

I agree with forte that more colour would be good, although I get that you're working to a deadline with these guys and there's a lot of them. The stripe of white on the helmet of that one model up there looks great, it's a really nice shock of contrast and it catches the eye well; consider more of that imho. That guy looks great.

I will add white on helmets when I finish all minis with basic purple, golden and silver. And I will add further more colours: black and yellow pipes and wires, brown gloves, colourful gems and Flawless Host white shoulder pad patterns. Finally I will add a lot of weathering to minis, I don`t like the idea of garish Noise Mairnes. I will stay with very dark purple, almost black with some minor lightning and scratches. All issue with this basic painting now is compromise between quality and quantity. To have very good painted mini or painted army as a whole. I am not going to start collecting any other army this year so as soon as I finish my basic painting I will start adding some painting improvements. I will have strong troops choice with 25 Noise Marines, next purchase will be Land Rider and Terminators so not so many models to paint but this maybe September when Overlords Escalation League reach 2000pts.

I was going to say, and in no offense, that if you used silver trim you'd have Warriors of Mayhem.  You should try adding some pink to the purple, although they're your models and you're trying to get ready for a tournament.

I know it is not so fluff wise but dark purple is not far away from pink ^^ And there is no silver trim, I will use silver only for metal parts as barrels, guns and wires and shoulder pads will be painted with Flawless Host pattern.

I have one painted Noise Marine with slightly brighter theme but at the end I just found it is too bright:

Noise Marines are not my thing, but the colours and painting on these are fantastic, so I will be following.

That lord is looking sweet, great choice of bits. You might want to move the torso a bit forwards though, he looks a bit too laid back:)
