I hate painting silver though. Would be a struggle to forge the narrative for an alliance between wolves ands grey knights, too. Hehe msn-wink.gif

Isn't there precedent in the fluff for them fighting together? Wasn't there a bunch of Grey Knights at the first battle for Armageddon?

Man, grey knights look kinda OP now, actually.

Their storm ravens can take paybolt ammunition and *SANCTUARY*.

..OH. targets the pskyer. Damn, that's a lot less awesome. Still, they do generate an extra warp charge point as they're a psyker (ml1).

The troops choices get hammer hand, which is now str +2. You might think you're worse off in 7th because it's harder to pass the test, but think about it this way - you only need to cast the power on some of your units each turn. Much of the time, half your units won't be in close combat, and they can lend their dice to the units that are.

How does combat squads interact with brotherhood of psykers?

Combat Squad makes them two separate units, so that's one more unit granting another Warp Charge point.

Grey knights librarians are a bargain for what they can do, also.

At 150 points to start they're actually a bit more expensive than we'd like - better off sticking with Coteaz, and going with a Grand Master for a second HQ if you need one. He does so, so, much more for the army.

Inquisitors are a bargain, as always.

Indeed.

And... grey knights have various anti psychic rules that actually still do something in 7th, unlike space wolves.

True

You don't have to paint them silver - a nice dark grey (charcoal) also works well. No problem forging an alliance if the protection of the Imperium is at stake.

Yeah, but I think the fallout from the aftermath of that war is what might make future interactions, a bit on the volatile side...

Eh, the younger blood wasn't there (and probably wasn't told the specifics), and even if members who were there or were told the full story are present are on one or both sides, the two factions can probably be counted on to bury old grudges when imperial lives are at stake, and the Knights don't generally hang around long enough for conflict to arise after the fact.

librarians are 150 points but you get TDA, and aren't they ML 3? My first thought was that that's better than wolves get it, but i guess wolves are expensive themselves, so that's not saying much.

I dont have the codex in front of me though. Hmm, maybe you're right... Will have a look when i get a chance!

I don't think the grey knights and wolves would have too much of a problem. They both blame the inquisition for the conflict (grey knights called it the months of shame). It would be strained but they'd trust them than xenos

edit: wow didn't realize my post took that long sorry for being off topic
