[Q] Sammael Command Squad Confusion?

Okay, I understand that to take a DW Command you need a Terminator HQ, and RW Command needs Sammael or a bike HQ, so naturally I always assumed normal Command Squads would need a power armoured, on foot HQ.

 

However:

"For each HQ choice in your army (not including Techmarines or other Command Squads of any type) you may include a Command Squad."

 

Unless this has been overruled it looks like I could be wrong?

 

I would appreciate a response as this would work out quite nicely in a current list of mine.

Always been my reading that you can take a PA Command Squad regardless of what HQ you take, one CS per HQ selection. Only the DW and RT CS have the restriction on what HQs unlock them.

Thanks, I regularly take a CS in a LRC in my Standard of Devastation lists and fitting in the 2nd HQ alongside Sammael has occasionally meant dropping something elsewhere. I guess it was never actually necessary though. Oh well, I know now.

What Aegnor said, you can take the budget one stick them in a landraider and enjoy the show with whatever banner they are providing.

Still seems like a shame to waste so much space inside the Land Raider though. Good to know it works, that saving has bought a few fancy weapons around the army.
