Moonstalker
List looks pretty workable, but I might consider a few changes. Like usual, I prefer the lascannons on the Contemptor-Mortis over the Kheres. Probably even moreso considering the changes to the damage table in 7th edition (Kheres now cannot score an explodes result). The same damage table nerf devalues missiles slightly, and I think your anti-tank is a bit crowded from the falchion, while the Medusas play a dual anti-tank and anti-marine role, and do both of them better than the missile squad. I think it would be worth considering dropping the Master of Signal for a Primus Medicae in Terminator armor, dropping the missile squad entirely, and using the points from that to fill up your tactical squads, grab augury scanners on your apothecaries, and maybe buy some extra terminators/more terminator gear (combiplasmas?). Molokai
Thanks for the reply Kitwulfen much appreciated. I hear you on the missile unit. They're definitely the weakest link in this list. Unfortunately it's all the models I have available at the moment so will field them for a while and see how they go. If I do decide to drop them out, what are your thoughts on adding a sicaran with heavy bolter sponsons or scorpius to help balance the anti infantry out. I'm thinking the sicaran would be better as I'm lacking any fast units. With left over points I could take a few extra terminators and Primus medicae in cataphractii armour to boost that units size like you suggested. Thoughts? Molokai
Ok so I've written a new list at 2000 pts, no lord of war. It's for this weekend, I'll be playing in a 3 player game, all onto all. My opponents will be 30k world eaters and 40k chaos marines. Forge lord cataphractii, servo arm, power fist, cyber familiar, rad grenades 150 15 tacticals vexilla, extra cc weapons, sergeant has artificer armour and powerfist 265 x 2 Mortis contemptor Kheres cannons 180 Mortis contemptor lascannons 185 7 cataphractii 7 powerfists 270 Spartan armoured Vegemite, flare shield 340 Apothecary artificer armour 55 x 2 8 heavy support squad missile launchers 235 2000 pts The forgelord rolls with the cats in the spartan repairing and giving rad grenades plus 5 powerfist stat attacks on the charge. The rest is straight forward. Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291748-2500-death-guard/#findComment-3722443 Share on other sites
Moonstalker
Armoured vegemite? Your opponents might eat that right up, better be careful. :V Well, looks like you've got some good firepower going on, 6 lascannon shots, all TL, 8 missiles, and 12 assault cannon shots per turn. 32 marines with FNP, 8 terminators with enough powerfisting to make an inappropriate joke. Personally, I would be thinking about scraping some points together for a fortification. It's been years since I did a FFA match, but as I remember castling up was a good strategy. An Imperial Strongpoint with an ADL and Bastion is like 125 points, I think? Scrape the AA off the apothecaries and the CCWs off the tacticals and you've got 80 points right there. Drop a couple missile launcher marines and you can castle all your infantry and both dreadnoughts up safe and sound while giving your remaining missile launchers a better vantage point to fire from. Molokai
That's an interesting suggestion Kitwulfen cheers. I've never considered bringing a fortification. Castling up my infantry would offer even more survivability which is very death guard. What does that particular fort offer rules wise? I'm very uneducated regarding forts. Cheers Also, what's FFA?
