MisterKillam
I'm painting my first Stormraven and I'm not sure how to proceed with putting the cockpit on. Will a matte sealant mess with the cockpit glass at all? Should I just add that part after I've painted and sealed the whole thing, or am I okay to just mask it off and go ahead? Thanks for the help. Lucien Eilam
Well, it will mess with the cockpit glass, but only if you spray it on the cockpit glass. I expect you'd get a sort of crude frosted effect, which I doubt you want. But if the cockpit glass is properly masked, it should be fine. It won't eat through the tape or anything. I remember the Stormraven cockpit being a real pig to assemble, so I'd probably prioritise whichever method makes assembly easiest. If you do mask it, be careful the tape isn't so sticky it pulls the cockpit frames apart, as they're quite delicate. If in doubt, I stick the tape to the desk once or twice before applying it to the model, which gets rid of some of the glue so it'll be easier to remove from the model.
