Squark
I've been putting together the last of my Grey Hunters, but while I was magnetizing an arm choice I accidentally glued the magnet in the wrong way. Is there any easy way to get the magnet out without harming the plastic, since Meltaguns are hard enough to come by as it is? UltraRich
Id recommend drilling a hole with a pin vice through the other side of the magnet Then stick the mini in the freezer for an hour If you then take a paperclip that has been straightened and push it through the hole if you are lucky and apply enough force you will push the magnet out The pin hole can then be gs'd The only other way is to freeze it then try and pop out the magnet with the tip of a craft knife This may damage the mini though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291827-fixing-super-glue-mistakes/#findComment-3705280 Share on other sites

The freezer trick really works, and I've done exactly this before. It's a pain in the butt but I bet you'll never make that mistake again. Live and learn. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291827-fixing-super-glue-mistakes/#findComment-3705284 Share on other sites
Fibonacci
The only other way is to freeze it then try and pop out the magnet with the tip of a craft knife This may damage the mini though And potentially dangerous since prying with craft knife blades is a sure way to break the tip. Drill through the back. If the magent is in the shoulder you can probably cover up the green stuff patch with the shoulder pad as well. Grotsmasha
A trick for the future to prevent this. When magnetizing weapons, use the same weapon to magnetize every set of hands. Once your magnet is glued and dried in the weapon put the magnet your about to glue onto the magnet in the weapon and add a dab of glue, then push it into its hole and slide the weapon off sideways. This method will prevent reverse polarization and having different troopers with magnets in different ways. averykess
You might be able to get some super glue debonder into it, but the freezer trick works too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291827-fixing-super-glue-mistakes/#findComment-3709459 Share on other sites
Fibonacci
Every time I have tried to use a debonder it ate the plastic :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291827-fixing-super-glue-mistakes/#findComment-3709464 Share on other sites
averykess
Every time I have tried to use a debonder it ate the plastic yeah, you really want the debonder on the superglue, not the plastic. It is pretty much acetone. I have found soaking a miniature for stripping in simple green or purple power or Castrol Super Clean often makes the superglue brittle.
