Psychedelic Chaos Space Marines Anyone?

Hey guys, first time poster here with an idea I've been toying with for a while now. Having been exposed to a fatal combination of a sudden heretical interest in the Chaos Gods, documentaries from the 1960s about the religious practices on the island of Bali narrated by David Attenborough, the art of Stacey Rozich (check her out, her stuff is cool as) and listening to a lot of world music and the wondrously bizarre (and heavy) Goat and Master Musicians of Bukkake, the idea of a chapter of traitor space marines with a large number of sorcerers that used psychedelic drugs to increase their abilities as psykers in battle (similar to some theories of Viking bezerkers) began to float around in my head.  Problem is, my fluff knowledge isn't as sharp as it used to be (been out of the hobby for a few years), and I don't have a name that screams 'Psychedelic Chaos Sorcerers' in the way I want to and I cant seem to come up for a colour scheme for them, so if you beautiful people could check this rough chapter history to see if it all lines up well enough to canon, provide constructive criticism and even suggest some possible colour schemes.names for these guys that'd also be great.

  • Chapter originates from the Dark Founding, thus meaning that their gene-seed is unknown
  • Made a remote Feral World their base, solely recruiting from the warlike tribes there, who have a highly ritualistic culture that includes the ingestion of a highly powerful hallucinogen that at higher doses even effects space marines, increasing their potency in combat, in particular their psychic abilities.
  • Having established themselves as Gods among the tribes to establish a reliable supply of recruits,  over time the chapter took highly to the culture of their world and began wearing helmets shaped to look like masks of native war spirits, started taking the hallucinogen in battle, and had an increasing number of psykers in their ranks.
  • This eventually gave them the attention of the inquisition which, when coupled with their failing gene-seed (earlier samples showed that it had been pure), had them investigated for heresy.
  • Inquisition found that their homeworld had an alarming number of psykers which they hadn't reported, and that the hallucinogen that they used was tainted by Chaos and are then declared excommunicate traitoris
  • Before the Chapter can be attacked however, a warp storm cuts off their world from the rest of the Galaxy
  • By the time is clears over a three years later, the Chapter emerges completely changed, with their helmets changed into demonic visages and worshipping Chaos and has no non-psychic commanders, with the first company being entirely made out of psykers
  • Chapter fights off the Imperial forces arrayed against them and kills the Inquisitor that declared them heretics
  • Due to the remoteness of their homeworld, they are seen as not being as huge a threat to the Imperium as the Red Corsairs were, and were therefore relatively ignored, except by a particularly zealous Space Marine Chapter, who launches a crusade against them, and are then destroyed, aside from the 3rd Company which was absent, who then vow vengeance and begin to attempt to rebuild
  • Combat doctrine is basically the Alpha Legion + Psykers, focusing on infiltration, subterfuge and information gathering before launching attacks on the enemies leadership
     and weak points
  • Despite the 1st company being entirely psychic, they are not often fielded as one.  Instead, various sorcerers attach themselves as squads into other warbands, and the more senior members are effectively authorities unto themselves, often leaving independently for extended periods of time.  They only come together is when they are called by their old chief librarian who was known as Bardo Choynid before his ascension to demonhood.
  • While Tzeentch is the most commonly worshipped God amongst the sorcerers, others dedicate themselves to Slannesh or Nurgle.  Khorne receives limited worship among the non-psychic population, and cults to obscurer powers and local demigods are also common
  • However, fanaticism is not in fact the norm, with many sorcerers seeing the Chaos Gods as a tool to achieve power.

How's this sound guys?

Thoughts:

1. Fighting off Imperial forces? Fine. Killing an Inquisitor? Also fine. Inquisiton then going "eh we'll deal with them later"? Probably less fine. It could be done, but the default position after killing an army large enough to feasibly take down a Chapter + an Inquisitor with enough clout to order such a move doesn't seem like something that would be just left to lie. As a suggestion, politics might play a big/huge part in this, if you stick with this route.

2. This becomes even more of an issue after they've wrecked a Chapter of the Imperium's finest on top of the above.

3. As a renegade Chapter, why do they still keep to formulaic companies etc? Not saying it's wrong, but an explanation of this would be handy.

4. What did Bardo Choynid do to get Daemonhood?

5. In terms of a name, remember that they could have alwasy rebranded after being declared traitor. Choose a Space Marine-ey name, then have them change it.

1. How about a gigantic warp storm that cuts them off from the rest of the Galaxy after their victory? (chaos ships are able to get through these easier compared to others right?)

2.Same

3.Hmm... good point. I suppose you could say that there's a body within them that acts like a 1st company/minor with a suitably chaos-y name. something like The Shimmering Parliament or other "chaos sounding thing"

4. Was given it in the war with the Inquisition

5. Havent got a pre-traitor name but I'm warming to The Masked Cabal for their post-traitor name

As for colour schemes, was thinking this for them http://imgur.com/jcgvGLN helmet/mask would basically be a face with slightly distorted features

The armour of their sorcerers is more elaborate however, with the colours reversed (so primarily gold), as well as wearing more elaborate masks than the rank-and-file troops, basically looking like this http://imgur.com/k07yv4T
