robotoctopuss
Hi guys. I'm new here, hello. I'm just wondering if the Vindicares Deadshot still beats "look out sir" (since its gone from the FAQ)? And to the same effect can Jokearo now buff ICs again, and does the dreadknights Greatsword still buff Doomfist? Thanks for the help and look forward to coming here more to share my lists and experiences with you. Ive been playing since October and so far having a ball! Sigvard
Dreadknight Greatsword will still buff doom fist because the wording of the Sword states a model with the Sword may get 're-rolls. It mentions nothing about using it in close combat you just simply need to have it. Vindicare I asked the FAQ which was pointless, I thinks down to your gaming group if I am honest Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291990-vindicare-and-deadshot-in-7th/#findComment-3708564 Share on other sites
Exile Noctis
In the 6th edition latest FAQ, the deadshot rule always superceded LOS! Probably hasn't changed so you can assume it is the same as 6th. Brovius
In the 6th edition latest FAQ, the deadshot rule always superceded LOS! Probably hasn't changed so you can assume it is the same as 6th. If we're going by the assumption of previous FAQs, then that means Tyranids would not be able to purchase fortifications. A lot of people are saying that Deadshot doesn't need a FAQ because of the RAW, but I honestly don't see it. Does it mean that every time they pass a LOS roll, the Vindicare says "I don't care, I'm shooting the sergeant" until the enemy fails the LOS? Exile Noctis
Either way, it still got a FAQ previously. :P It states that it always allows the controlling player to allocate the wounds. Regardless of a passed LO:S roll he could say exactly that. Gentlemanloser
Lets not forget Codex > BRB, so Deadshot trumps Lo,S! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291990-vindicare-and-deadshot-in-7th/#findComment-3708853 Share on other sites
boreas
As long as they're not replaced by new FAQs, I'll keep abiding by the old FAQs. Safe, easy.... Reclusiarch Darius
A lot of people are saying that Deadshot doesn't need a FAQ because of the RAW, but I honestly don't see it. Does it mean that every time they pass a LOS roll, the Vindicare says "I don't care, I'm shooting the sergeant" until the enemy fails the LOS? No, it's actually much simpler. This is how you resolve it in a game; You: I'm shooting your Tactical squad with my Vindicare Opponent: Cool beans You: (resolve hit and wound) Sweet, got my Hellfire shot off. I'll allocate it to your Sergeant Opponent: Okay, I roll for 'Look Out Sir!' and...succeed! You: That's great. I still allocate it to the Sergeant Opponent: What! How? (reads Deadshot rule)...grumble grumble...stupid OP Knights...damn you Ward... No FAQ required. RAW means you always allocate the wounds you cause with a Vindicare. This includes when he's manning a Quad Gun or Icarus lascannon ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291990-vindicare-and-deadshot-in-7th/#findComment-3709123 Share on other sites
Shaolin_Monkey
Just a pity that they now snap fire at ground targets. Just get him to man a macro cannon instead. Reclusiarch Darius
Just a pity that they now snap fire at ground targets. Just get him to man a macro cannon instead. Yeah that is true. However for nuking Heldrakes and other Flyers, you can't go past a BS8 lascannon or quad gun. Putting a Vindicare on a macro cannon is a bit dirty IMO. Brovius
I figured that's how it works. So just 'allocate' the shot to the guy you want to hit until he fails a LOS! roll? Sounds like a sure-fire way to wreck that Iron Hands obnoxious deathstar HQ. *BOOOOM* There goes the invuln. *FWEEEP* Force weapons activated. *SLAM* Hammertime! All saves gone :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291990-vindicare-and-deadshot-in-7th/#findComment-3710017 Share on other sites

All saves gone I don't know if its changed in 7th ed. i doubt it, so you can only roll once per wound for LOS! Infact I'm 100% confident otherwise the justicar/sergeant would never take a wound until all his squad has perished. Fair point but remember the quad gun is twin linked isn't it? So Vindicare is no better than any BS 5 guy on it. Both get 2+ with rerolls. If you really want certainty take an Iccarus with Cypher at BS 10. Also, the wording on 'Deadshot' is clear as day, the controller of the Vindicare always gets to allocate. Your opponent can make all the LoS! he wants, you just keep putting the wound back on the model you choose. Wound allocation is exactly the same as in 6th. I honestly don't see why it needs an FAQ when RAW already is perfectly fine.
