Sturm Moonwolf
Where does it say the RP with Beastslayer is our relic master? This is unexplored rule territory for me... Imperial Armour Apocalypse, also in War Machines of the Adeptus Astartes. whiteridder
Well its some months ago, but has there a lot changed? I saw there are some new knights but no new tanks. Still thinking on the Typhon heavy assault tank, but maybe also one of the new knights. Anyone advice? Dantay VI
Is the Typhon allowed in 40K? It isnt included in the space marine tanks section for 40K stuff on the FW website along with a few other tanks. For example the Fellblade is in the 40K section biut not the falchion or glaive. Sturm Moonwolf
Yep, it's a LoW. Says it can be taken by Space Wolves in it's rules too. The LoW pdf listing on the FW website predates IA2 second edition where the current Typhon rules are, along with everything else. whiteridder
By the way, you dont need a Rune priest with your Fire raptor. Only apply when you got two verhcles with the relic rule. But the Typhon still good? Sturm Moonwolf
Typhon is great if you enjoy taking chunks of enemy off in a single blow in a very loud and obnoxious way. That s10 ignore cover 7" blast doesn't miss much, and its great to charge forward and ram stuff too. Also does wonders to jinkers. I run mine right at the enemy flanked with 2 knights and TWC behind. All out assault. Dantay VI
You areseriously making me reconsider the Spartan or the Sicaran for a Typhon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292021-which-tank-and-imperial-knight-to-choice-forgeworld-tanks/page/2/#findComment-3841702 Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
Personally, I do not like the Typhon. I am paying 350+ for what amounts to 1 shot per turn. It may be S10 but it doesn't jack against Riptides, Dreadknight, Wraithknight, Imperial Knights and so on. Most if the time it will just knock a hull point of a tank, even though it is AP1. Serpents won't even need to jink with SS up so ignoring cover only has marginal use here. What it amounts to is a glorified Demolisher.Sicaran ignores jink, one of the greatest enemies of SM armies, and costs 135. That is extremely good value for what you are getting. It laughs at light and medium mech, being able to glance them to death, and can threaten heavy mech. And it leaves more points for other toys and can thus be used safely in the 1k point range as well as 2k. Sturm Moonwolf
It's really up to you. I have both a Sicaran and a Typhon in my CoF 2k list and it's done swimmingly well. WGBL on TWM, 2 IP's on TWM's, 5 TWC, Sicaran, Typhon, Knight Paladin and a Knight Errant. Just depends on your style.
