Diavlo
I need help in decision process. I have several different thoughts fighting in my head. I want to assembly and paint all my marines that I can use magnets and change some wargear for sergeants/veterans. I want to have all my minis assembled, painted with proper company and squad markings. Maybe its going to be better if I'll stick to glue instead of magnets, but then what if I'll stick to one squad and leave others at shelf(because of their weapon loadouts), they'll feel abandoned and there is only one step to heresy from there. Now the problem is that if I start magnetizing I'll have to magnetize arm with shoulderpad, and then if I'll change a weapon for a sergeant for example, I'll change it shoulderpad with the number of the squad. First I wanted to use veteran squads, as squad sergeants and only if needed band them together as veteran squad, but veteran loadout is a little different than sergeant loadout and I have to make both, veterans and sergeants. I don't think I have a problem with specialist guys loadout or heavyweapon guys as there is not so many options, and I can glue them I think. I have loads of unpainted and not assembled minis, including several squads from DV, more than 6 boxes of veteran marines, and loads of other stuff. ( to this moment I have almost always played Deathwing or with my IG, or proxied special weapons for GreenWing as I have 50 of them assembled and painted). Too many minis, too many decisions... where is my cell? Bryan Blaire
Magnetize them at the wrist with some strong but small magnets (use one in the wrist and one in the hand for each weapon so they make contact and give you the best connection). Master Avoghai
Here's how I've done : Magnets are used for vehicles weapons and RW sgt(in irder to play them with or without combo weapon) The rest is glued. Each tactical squads are composed of - 9 marines (one with a position that could make a good sgt or at least, a combat squad leader) - 1 sgt withcombi weapon : 6 tactical squads => 2 of each combi weapon. - 3 marines with each special weapon - 5 marines with each heavy weapon If I want a sgt with CCW such as power sword or fist I pick them in my company veterans reserve (just like the fluff states actually) and use one as my CC tactical squad leader. I've ornated the armour with personal heraldry so that there cannot be any mismatching between the squad and the leader. My assault squads are made as such : 7 marines with CCW 2 marines with PP 2 marines with flamer 1 vet sgt with a fixed power weapon (squad 7 PS, squad 8, PF) My devastator as such For each : 5 marines with bolter 1 sgt with bolter 4 marines with ML Squad 9 : 4 marines with LC 4 marines with PC Squad 10 4 marines with HB 4 marines with MM That way I'm able to play whatever conformation I want. And it fits in 6 GW models racks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292143-brothers-i-need-help-at-assembly-stage/#findComment-3711568 Share on other sites
