Nrakmm
I've just finished painting my command squad, but the banner is currently blank. I'm looking for some inspiration from all you wonderful people on the B&C. Molokai
Honestly mate I'd keep it very simple. Death guard aren't about flash. Maybe just the legion symbol or the number xiv. That's all I'll be doing for mine. Fluffy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292158-death-guard-legion-banner/#findComment-3711866 Share on other sites
Nrakmm
I know that us of the XIVth Legion are not ones for ornamentation, but I wasn't sure if that extended to Legion banners in the command squad. Kamehameha!
I agree with Brother Molokai. Even the Mortarion and Typhon models don't really have any bling, and they're the Primarch and First Captain.Simple legion symbol would do the trick in my book. Conn Eremon
I would go for practical over ostentation. Legion symbol and/or numeral, and your Company's (or whatever) classification. Daemon2027
What the others have said, but you could also include a campaign badge and battle honour as well. Phoros
Of course, if you want something a bit more detailed, you could try some sort of heavily stylized scene - maybe, say, a duel using "cut-outs" or silhouettes of colour? It would make a nice mix of the Death Guard's style and a bit of detail and bling. Kamehameha!
Yeah, isn't there DG brass-etch from FW with the scythe motif? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292158-death-guard-legion-banner/#findComment-3713400 Share on other sites
Nrakmm
Yes there is DG brass-etch & it does have a skull with 2 scythes motif. The problem with that piece of iconography, is that the crossed scythes was Mortarion's blessing & I'm not sure how many Terrans he gave that to. Russ Brother 92
Could always use the laurel wreath one (FW-Brass Etch) - still gives more style/bling and stays within the theme of the force without going overboard?
