Astral Claw devistator Project

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Scott And recently I have been commissioned to paint 15 model, 3 five man, devastator squads by a customer I met on eBay.cool.png

He explained the he loved the game and the figures but could never find the time to paint his models and provide them with the TLC they deserved.ph34r.png

I suspect that there are plenty of gamers that game with there armies but unpainted.whistlingW.gif

If you or anyone else you know find themselves in the same situation then please message me for further detail if you think I may be able to help? msn-wink.gif

Here are the models I purchased for the customer. the funds were transferred via Paypal. I then [purchased the models from Weylang games.

Tools of the trade, Items we will need to first assemble the models

once assembled, I then proceeded to carefully pin the models to the bases

Once I had assembled and pinned the models it was time to add some detail. I added purity seals and battle damage to add to the models appearancebiggrin.png

Once the models had been prepared and cleaned, all that remained was the undercoatingblink.png

Today I started to paint the models. I was familiar with the chapter colors and was keen to experiment with weapon schemes. msn-wink.gif

I started by gathering all the materials I would be using with a quality set of brushes.cool.png

I then started by "DRY BRUSHING" all the models silver to reviel all the detail I would need to capture. Once I had an Idea in mind of what I wanted to do I slowly started to piece together the scheme I would later use.yes.gif

I started with the model armed with the heavybolter. I played if safe as the customer did not specify weapon schemesconfused.gif

Once I had finished this model I had a fair Idea of what I was aiming for. By using a combination of inking and highlighting I was able to achieve a gritty "war torn" effect that added "depth" and "character" to the model within a fairly short time frame. laugh.png

By revieling the detail at the beginning of the process I was able to carefully apply base coat and layering final colours by "WET BRUSHING" to avoid any viable brush marks.ph34r.png

Thanks for following the thread.thanks.gif " Next up" Lascannon Guy...thumbsup.gif
