CatSmasher Posted June 19, 2014 Share Posted June 19, 2014 I had my largest game ever today at 2000 pts. Its part of an escalation league, and in this round my opponent and I challenged each other and combined the points. I have just finished my thunderwolves and fen wolves so I was excited to get them on the table. My opponent ran an unbound choas army with 3 demon prices, Vindicator, 3 plague marine sq, three obliterators, and some demon thing with crab legs and lots of guns. I had a wolf lord on mount and three thunderwolves, two with storm shields and frost blades, one with thunderhammer, check out my gallery for pics. His plan was to rely on tons of dice for summons, and he was fairly successful. He generated roughly 100-200 pts per turn. Thankfully he was pressing for the objective on my side of the table which was protected my my wolf pack and the building with my RP and LF. The vindicator i brought was very unreliable, but my GH plasma squads shot well. I always include a pistol even though the common advice says no. My LR had a flamer GH squad which was vital against his summoned demons. Warrior born on my wolf lord was also awesome based purely on luck (I had to pay for trinkets because I don't have enough models). I ended up rolling well, and we told good stories of the overwhelming odds, and the expert beatdowns handed out by the wolves. I took the game due largely to failed reserve rolls, leaving a Drop Pod until the 4 turn to land on the objective. My Armour took the heavy fire he did have, and I got to match up my GH squads against the groups I needed. At first I was not too happy to see an unbound demon army, but my opponent was a really nice guy, and we were both forgiving with each other's with mistakes. It was a great game and my wolves must have killed 400pts of assorted demons, witches and horrors. Thanks for listening, check out my gallery for pics of my new stuff.
